Surely the people who play this mud are a lot more sophisticated than using terms like 'rank' and 'level'

1) 40th Circle of Power
2) 40th stance within my guild
3) 40th degree of wisdom/power/strength/etc.
4) 40th ________ of _______

It just takes a teeny weeny bit of effort to make think of those extra words.

But people don't. I guess that's a bigger issue than using an offhand word like 'rank', 'damage', or likewise.

And FWIW, I think stating that 'Your initial pincer did quite the substantial damage to me' is fine in the right context. Just based on how it was phrased and in this context, there is little doubt in my mind that it was purely from a OOC point of view than IC. You can give him the benefit of a doubt if you want.

I'm not saying that he's a bad rper. On the contrary, in a general sense, he tries. Just saying in this one specific incident, the rush of the pk probably got to him and he said this.

And it's fine. No one's perfect. And holding someone to a standard to RP perfectly 100% of the time is ridiculous and inane.
