You know how in kindergarten there was the one kid who could never get good attention from teachers or classmates, so instead they resorted to doing things to annoy others? As such they got tons and tons and tons of attention, but none of it the type that I'd personally crave.

For me, the way Thorny got interaction from me was at one of the sadly rare moments that I was fully vis, sending me a tell bitching about Marans having no honor. Naturally you can imagine that Shokai could care less (IC) what some evil twit has to say about honor and/or Maran. After trying to give the hint that he was making no headway...eventually I got slightly annoyed (OOC), and completely enraged (IC) and hacked his tongue out.

Even though he did it in a way that probably wasn't the best for a character's health, Thornarcrull did stand out. Standing out is a way to get immteraction....though the way you stand out is the attention you get. Stand out in a negative way (calling Shokai dishonorable as an evil, for example) you get negative attention (tongue cut out, and 'death marked')....if you stand out in a positive way (say...Ulthur for example, who excelled at being a Maran and a paladin) you get positive attention (leadered, tattooed and Talon'd). You've no doubt heard the phrase 'squeaky wheel get the oil?'...I personally subscribe to the way Minsc (BG and BGII) put it 'Squeaky wheel gets the kick!'....in short, Thornarcrull got a lot of attention and a lot of immteraction, however, whether or not it's the type of immteraction you really want is up to you.
