Chapter 9

Nazarates watched in silence as the votes were cast.
Unlike many in his position he chose not to campaign
for the support of the council. He felt that his bloody
works spoke for themselves. "The Emperor is dead! Long
live Emperor Nazarates!" was the cry of the loyal
citizens as Nazarates sat in the Throne for the first
time. His emotionless eyes looked down over his people
and his council. He was now the most powerful man in
Thera and yet this meant as little to him as the first
day he had taken the oath.

As he sat in the fabled Throne of Emperors his mind
remained on his task at hand: Deliver an army to the
Order to help bring about Eternal Night. From his
standing he continues to keep a secret peace with those
of the Scarabs that he feels may be useful in this
quest. With all others he has taken a stance of all
out war. Bringing countless offerings to the Gods of
Death.

For now he continues to wait for his marching orders
from that which dwells within the Black Sepulcher.
