#35933, "(DELETED) [OUTLANDER] Aesrira Tiril'Taureba, Harbinger ..."
|
Well once again life has conspired to kill a character of mine. I was really hoping to play out Aesrira till age/con death but work and life... Well you know. It will probable be a month or two before I am playing again, even if it’s just as a casual player. I'm not sure I'll ever again be able to put in the time I did with this character. I burned a lot of hours, and all of them were fun. But, I still have a vague hope of Imm'ing one day, if I can ever find the time to devote to it.
Anyway, Aesrira was my first serious character after a two year break from the game. Despite having played for a long time, she was also my first attempt at actively PKing, outside of raiding and retrieving. It was pretty fun, I can definitely see why people like it.
One of the ideas behind this character was that she was a Mother, but would become more Crone'ish as she aged. Which in one sense means more active in PK. This allowed me to speak with the spirelings when young about changing, but lets face it, no amount of talking is generally going to convince a vindi, justicar, or provincal to come romp in the leaves. So instead, by focusing on the PKing as a means of teaching, we could speak about the hunt, the chase, or the blood call and the beast within as a means to freeing ones spirit. Ironically, this also meant that Aesrira really liked many of the Village and would often let them chase and poke her! She thought most of them, she called them wolves, were closer to being free than most.
As far as the Cabal goes, it is definitely my favorite. Of my last two serious characters, one was a Warlock the other a Sylvan. That should tell you just how long ago I've played! Sheesh. And how much the game has changed since then. Outlanders may have some surface similarities to the old sylvan but at its core it is a much different cabal. There is a depth and diversity that you just never got with the old sylvans. I was quite pleased and will be looking forward to coming back to the Cabal when I can.
And Oh, if anyone is interested, Aesrira is not dead, but has returned to the wilds to become the beast. So give that next gator you see a wide step, she might just bite!
