Screw cabal politics. You should have just done it. His contention is that Ishuli would have had your back. Of course, his contention could be wrong.

All I can say is that in my long history of playing Fotress characters, the fastest single-character raids have been: Sodsob (AP with huge weapon), Charine (Edged-out Chancellor Conjurer), and Ahtieli/Gaspare (Emperor Lich).

Vindicator Mummy obviously loses out on sigil, which is big. But you could probably rationalize using guards, which Emperor doesn't have. Get shield of blackest pitch, put up a/s/b/minor_ward and maybe stone_skin/protection/resist_heat (with the understanding they'll be dispelled), vindicator guards, pimp zombie army, haste them all, frenzy them all, then maybe try zapping the Watcher with some useful wands (e.g. slow).

I don't know much about greater undead, but maybe there's some greater undead that's extra-useful for raid situations like that.
