Chapter 3

--- Note: Embarrassed at my errors in prior role post. I'm fairly bad about proof-
reading. I'm ashamed and I hope we can look beyond that. ---


The times were dark. I never forgot the freedom I had before I was 'sheltered' and
brought to this 'civilized' life. A life proclaimed to be of protection and
prosperity. I'd rather be covered in bark than these 'Seantryn hand-stiched comfort
cloths'. Why? Because than for a moment I could feel real. I care not for this
comfort--this slavery founded on weak ideals to control.

Do I fear death? No. We all die. It's part of the everturning circle. What I fear
is dying for selfish gain and prematurely while my turn to shine is still suppose
to spin on. I could have run from this Brothel and be instantly killed for my
actions. Perhaps then with time I'd be recycled. Born anew. But I know that I
am meant for something more than this near suicidal act. I watched my purity be
stripped morning and night.

My escape did come. It came as simple as running out of the Brothel. Something I
had considered countless times prior. As I mentioned just prior. What drove me?
What was different? It was a beautiful, beautiful girl. Younger than even I.
She was of the human race. She looked so young, incredibly pure. I suspected she
had just 'come of age', per say. The Brothel was no place for her. I had saved
so many in the Jade. Those seeking exploration and adventure. Those who mainly
knew what they were getting into and fell victim to mistepping. A choice--a
choice to abandoned being one with the lands and knowing her curves... vigiliance.
This girl was fragile. She did not choose this. And in the coming days her life
was becoming forfeit to the defilement of the Cow. She would be ripped and torn
in their glee and pleasure. I determined then and there, I would die shoving
her into the foliage and letting what powers of the Gods would cradle her.
A death there, though undesirable, would be far better than the one that awaited
her in the ritualistic torment here.
