Chapter 5

***Here is a scroll that has obviously been well taken care of. The writing
on it is absolutely perfect, with no mistakes that can be seen to be
corrected. It looks to be a description of an experiment.***

Question:
What would happen if something was subjected to no nightfall or no daytime.

Method:

Capture 9 rats.

Put 3 rats in a box that is closed, let no light get in at all. Observe the
rats only in the nighttime.

Put 3 rats in a box with a continual light source. (Best one I found is a
light made by a mage, it burned neither hot nor too bright.) Observe the rats
only during the daytime.

Put 3 rats in a box with an open lid, let them experience both day and night.


Ensure all rats are given an equal amount of food and water.

Observations:
The rats in the darkened box and the box with continual light slowly went
obviously insane. They began attacking each other until they had to be
separted. Eventually they stopped eating and died. The rats in the box with a
normal night and day routine behaved as you would expect rats to. Found out
one was a girl..ended up with about 20 rats.

Conclusion:
An absolute of anything leads to death. One can not have all darkness, with
no light. If it were to happen, then the end would be imminent. A balance
must be maintained. I further think that this can bbe applied to all things,
not just darkness and light. A balance must be maintained in order for
existance to continue.
