Do we seriously have to drop instantly to explitives and insults?

Did Java have to comment on the age? No. Is it out of line when necro'ing a post that old? No. Do some people (I included) appreciate that headsup of "This actually isn't a new topic everyone's talking about, but Jeremiah voiced his opinion"? Absolutely.

Necro'ing the post throws people's perception of the interest of the topic. Not saying you can't do it, but it's pretty unlikely I focus that much on original post dates, so Java's comment is relevant. He didn't insult or belittle you in any way, just made a factual comment.
