Chapter 7

Neajess has come a long way since he set off on his journey. The thoughts of his
mothers beatings and piss still haunt him. But he realizes this is what actually
free'd him. He inflicts pain, he lies, he tricks, he seduces. Sometimes when the
pain overwhelms him he shoves them deep down and drinks himself to sleep. He'll often
awake covered in blood with pieces of elf flesh still sizzling on the end of his iron
flail. He finds the smell oddly comforting, a small respite from the pain. Demonic
temptations, thoughts and words filling his mind. He makes false alliances, false
promises, his word is not his bond; always longing for a way to escape or enjoy any type
of pain by causing others to feel it. All for the sake of spreading freedom. His pact
with the pit fiends is growing. Baalduru is reaching out to him, telling him he is to
prove himself by killing more, capturing more souls. So he will.

Neajess was offered a place in the Pit. He knows the power there is great. He did not
accept it outright, however. He thinks he can get the most power all at once, to be
Chancellor of the Eternal Night, and to avoid being subjageted. Perhaps he can use the
nightwalkers to bring forth the devils from Hell. Although Narra says she will not give
him orders and cane make him Advisor, he does not believe her. Neajess values freedom
above all things. He has made his wishes known to Lord Morius. The Lord will decide.
Narra can be his Advisor.

It has been some time since started searching for monsters, to study them; since he
cried tears of blood in the Cathedral of Loss. The common theme he found in the
monsters is fear. The masses fear them, spread lies, stories of their greatness. They
don't even have to look scary, some of them have kind faces and smiles. He has returned
often to talk to the Lord of Loss, but has been confronted with silence. He believes
he must spread more Loss. So he will.
