>Well, I must admit I am surprised to see you delete.
I really hadn't been having any fun with the character. I think I tend to lose interest after 50-100 hours at hero. I was past that, and then a few more things happened to bore me: the opposing cabals got a lot weaker, battle filled up, etc. Also, I was off the project I had been on at work, seriously decreasing my freetime.
>I had >blocked off Sunday evening to attend your speech at the Inn, >which earned me one of those 'looks' from my wife, but hey, >I figured it would be worth it!
It would have been. When Arvam told me that I needed to hold an event that would increase the inn's attendance that is what I came up with(partially from Drahk's role.) I started out excited, thinking of the Braoldan/Braghan/Yshemir/Trylartin types. It fit my role, and it fit the player. I'd put a few RL hours into preparing for it the following day, and sitting there with a textfile open typing was more fun that I'd had playing in a long time. How sad is that?
I was hoping that you'd make it, and I was hoping that it would turn out as special as I thought it would.
>I thoroughly enjoyed our interactions, and really enjoyed >watching you lead raids and defenses. It was obvious from >the outset that you knew exactly what to do and how to >convey your vision to those with you. I remember a >particular raid against the Warlocks, you and three other >Villagers (only two heroes) versus four Warlocks in range (I >think all heroes). You guys killed three of them, one at a >time, without breaking a sweat, and made the fourth one word >out of there. Was quite impressive to watch. I know I >wasn't the only Imm who liked to watch you work.
There really wasn't much work to be done in those later days. For the first 200 hours of my life, I had a blast 'working' - and I'm glad that you and the others enjoyed it as much as I did.
>You were well on the road to 'getting' my religion. My >expectations aren't unrealistic, and you were as good as you >thought you were. The religion is just...different from >other religions where the tattoo is what marks you as a >follower early on in life. That just wouldn't work for my >religion. I won't go into details here, but I will say you >had come closer than anyone to getting it.
Good to know. Thank you.
I was also sorry >that our playing times didn't overlap more; you seem to be a >late evening/very early morning guy, and I simply can't be >on at those times and still have a healthy home-life with my >wife.
In Drahk's early life I was a wierd scattered hours guy(lots, and lots of them.) In his mid-late life I was playing after work instead of sleeping. It is too bad, but when our paths crossed it made the rest of the time worth it.
Honestly, while I was enjoying the character I was too freakin' busy raiding for the head, raiding for items, running from ganks, separating ganks and takin' people down... odds are you'd have spent more time watching me than interacting with me. But it was fun
>Ganking is part of the game. Not that I'm an advocate of it >or anything, but it is one of the things that constantly >keeps you on your toes. I also should point out that, after >watching you fight, I can see why most of your foes chose >the gank route rather than face you one-on-one. Take that >as the backhanded complement its intended to be.
*chuckle* Taken as the backhanded compliment it was intended to be. I'm well aware that it is part of the game... but speaking from experience the hero range is just a lot less fun than it used to be.
>Good luck with your next >character.
Thanks.
In fact, thanks for everything. Despite our disparate play times, following you was rewarding.
Go do something nice for Sabiene :p
