#14522, "RE: (DEL) Drahk the Nameless, Captain of War"

Well, I must admit I am surprised to see you delete. I had blocked off Sunday evening to attend your speech at the Inn, which earned me one of those 'looks' from my wife, but hey, I figured it would be worth it!

I thoroughly enjoyed our interactions, and really enjoyed watching you lead raids and defenses. It was obvious from the outset that you knew exactly what to do and how to convey your vision to those with you. I remember a particular raid against the Warlocks, you and three other Villagers (only two heroes) versus four Warlocks in range (I think all heroes). You guys killed three of them, one at a time, without breaking a sweat, and made the fourth one word out of there. Was quite impressive to watch. I know I wasn't the only Imm who liked to watch you work.

You were well on the road to 'getting' my religion. My expectations aren't unrealistic, and you were as good as you thought you were. The religion is just...different from other religions where the tattoo is what marks you as a follower early on in life. That just wouldn't work for my religion. I won't go into details here, but I will say you had come closer than anyone to getting it. I was also sorry that our playing times didn't overlap more; you seem to be a late evening/very early morning guy, and I simply can't be on at those times and still have a healthy home-life with my wife.

I made Drahk because the village was an underdog. It's not anymore.

I am sincerely depressed by the change in the flow of the game. It was, after passing level 41, next to impossible to find a decent one-on-one or few-on-few fight. It was either get ganked into oblivion, or see no trace of your enemies because they fear getting ganked into oblivion.

I've always hated ragers in that they had no gank-escape(more important now,) extremely limited dam redu harder to deal with ganks, solo,) and RP-wise had no real justification for not standing and dying. I don't like dying, I don't like Kamikazee killing, and playing conservatively as a rager is effectively an impossibility.

Ganking is part of the game. Not that I'm an advocate of it or anything, but it is one of the things that constantly keeps you on your toes. I also should point out that, after watching you fight, I can see why most of your foes chose the gank route rather than face you one-on-one. Take that as the backhanded complement its intended to be.

There are some huge inately contradicting actions/statements that guide the village that just drive me batty. That declaration was one of them.

Yeah...*heh*. Nothing in the Village is cut and dry. I like that, makes things more interesting. It would have been interesting to see how things changed had you stuck around and gotten the leadership position. There's more to it than just the interviewing/inducting, or having a 'system' for inducting.

Feel free to email me if you've got any questions or other comments - I had heard that you wanted to tell me a few things right after you deleted, but I wasn't on. Kastellyn@carrionfields.com. Good luck with your next character.
