Chapter 6

When Ackor first joined the village long ago he knew that the current
Commander, Salyeris, was getting old. He could see the wrinkles in
her face. She had seen four drillmasters in her time as commander. She
had outlived many villagers. She had seen them come and go. He knew
that one day she would also too be gone and the village would need a
strong, courageous, and competant leader. As Ackor and a good friend
in the village, Abiritha, grew within their guild they would always
joke about being Commander and Drillmaster. This is something he would
like to be, and has taken steps to gain villagers trust and be a "leader"
amongst them. He knew that he would have to first live long enough to
see the Rites. Then he would have to prove himself as capable enough
to be the Commander or Drillmaster. He knows well all the other villagers
could probably see themself as the Commander or Drillmaster. He would
have to step up and stand out amongst them.
Ackor also has a goal of finishing his commandment by the mighty Lord
Akresius in bringing a sacrifice that shows his True Victory. He has
thought long and hard about this and has narrowed it down to what he
he feels would be appropriate. He hopes that he can speak to his Lord
soon, for his health wanes and hopes maybe he can tell him some way
to become as healthy as he used to be.
These two things are on his mind constantly as he travels through Thera.
