Chapter 4

As hideous as he once was beautiful to behold, the Prince of Darkness rose
from the depths of Cocytus, a beast of immense size visible only from
the waist up. Clouds of swirling frost spread before him like a rushing
tide, swept on by his vast bat-like wings. Skezok's heart sunk in the
presence of the Lord of the Pit, and whatever vile efforts brought him to
this point were nothing in comparison to his infernal glory. Overcome with
despair and hopelessness he longed only for him to command him or consume
him, whatever his will should be. When he gazed upon that infernal glory that
was all he knew, and the Dark One's words were like a whitesteel spike being
driven through his skull. Each word verging on shattering his mind.

The Prince of Darkness told him 'You have performed the condemning acts
needed to stand before me, proving that you the potential of becoming a
favored servant of mine. To empower your Spirit you shall bear the mark of
the Prince of Darkness. Go into the World and proclaim my power to mortal
minds. In this you have my blessing.'

Then with a massive talon the Dark One tore his infernal mark into Skezok's
flesh that would forever damn his soul, but also promise him a place at the
Dark One's side. Thus ending his fear of the now pathetic threats of the
Gypsy. Skezok need fear nothing ever again, or so he foolishly thought...
