Chapter 12

Juhldalor knelt beside his father, his hands upon his
chest, he called to him, "Pah!... Pah!"

Gruhnarld opened his eyes, the last he would look upon
his son, and uttered out the words, "Ner fearin.....
near fearin dem darkness..." His hand reaching up
and placing it on his son's chest, right over his heart.
"Yer be strikin it dare.... strikin it dare wid dem fire
in yer gut dare son, strikin ... strikin gainst dem taint..
strikin......"

The last breath within Gruhnarld left his body, his head
falling to the side, his hand sliding off Juhldalor to
the ground, dust rising as it landed.

Juhldalor closed his eyes and reached down, grabbing a
fistfull of dirt, feeling the cold earth begin to
warm within his hand. He felt it's strength and fortitude,
he clenched it tightly, bowing his head and began to pray.
