You are viewing a read-only archive of the Carrion Fields discussion forums built from a snapshot of the forum database on 2026-08-25. The search page works, though it is not as sophisticated as the old forum search. This archive encompasses approximately 25 years of CF discussion. Today, that discussion continues on Discord (see the main website for a link).

Make the savage smear mud and warpaint do more, but make it so wearing armor penalize them a lot more. Another idea is give savages berserk, but only if they are wearing a low number of eq slots. Say for example if a savage ranger is wearing just rings, boots, a belt, and leggings he can berserk, but if he's also wearing chest armor it would make him feel too restricted or something similar making berserk not possible?

I just hate seeing savage rangers wearing full suits and doing the rem all;warpaint;wear all because from a RP point of view it clashes in a bad way. I've never seen a savage ranger use smear mud aside from the RP aspect of having that neat muddy aura around them, and I've traveled with a lot of savage rangers.

I know this is not very likely to happen and that I'll getting coal, but I think it's a good idea that you guys could refine to something that would actually work.

Thank you for doing this. The players really appreciate it.

This was probably too vague for Santa Umi, but I'll kick around ideas.

Right now I feel like savage rangers do have some untapped potential, and they are the second most popular expertise.
