You are viewing a read-only archive of the Carrion Fields discussion forums built from a snapshot of the forum database on 2026-08-25. The search page works, though it is not as sophisticated as the old forum search. This archive encompasses approximately 25 years of CF discussion. Today, that discussion continues on Discord (see the main website for a link).

#2506, "Binder thief question/idea/bug"

Imm's -

I was going through some logs from a while back and saw a guy untie a player who was fighting at that moment. This may or may not still be possible as I haven't tested it...but to me it seems like untying someone while they are in the middle of being attacked should be at the least very hard to do. If a normal thief can't steal from someone in combat from fear of getting hit, i'd say removing bonds in combat would be even nastier. You could tear at the them yes, you might not have to sit there and try to unknot the thing, you could get a dagger or sword and slice through the ropes...it just seems like there should be a chance for failure and consequence. You try to untie them and you cut them instead, or you try to untie them and get a knife in the eye from the attacker..whatever. Anyway this may be total BS if this has been changed and doesn't happen anymore, just let me know either way. It just doesn't seem plausible. Thanks!
