In my opinion, you guys went too far. Let me explain why.

Your explanation had something to do with toning down the utility of those classes...

but, I think for paladins and invokers, you went too far...

and in the druid's case, because now invokers and paladins can't locate pc's ranking and druids can (in my opinion the most important and for me at least the most common use of the spell), you didn't tone down their utility *PK WISE* one bit...you just made druids that much more powerful.

I've always loved the "locate guts" "locate brains" etc. I will make no bones about it, those spells alone probably account for 70%+ of my pk wins over the past few years....so this change really hurts me...

But, it seems you didn't take that away from the druids, as those are natural items. So, in my opinion, you took the class with arguably the most wide range of deadly options in pk(druid), and made them more dangerous in comparison to other classes.

So my habit of sacrificing body parts immediately after the fight may have saved me from being PKed? I never knew. That's a good reason for others to do the same, if they're scared of druids.

And conjurers, healers, shamans, shifters, and transmuters. Or anyone grouped with one, in the same cabal with one, or in a chat room with one.

Good habit, btw. I thought I was the only one paranoid enough to do that.

People who don't sacrifice corpses at all are the worst, because then not only can you detect them, but you can get an idea of who is making them by the way they died.

The "why" being that these classes are now harder to PK with? I'm not sure too many people will complain about paladins and invokers having a harder time finding prey.

Uhh...druids weren't made more powerful. If anything they stayed the same. Paladins and invokers were made less powerful. Since there are more classes in Thera than just those three, paladins and invokers being downgraded isn't automatically an upgrade for druids. With regard to locating non-body-parts, though, it is sort of an upgrade for those classes that retained "real" locate object.

Ayup. The three classes chosen (and the degree of the downgrade) had a lot to do with balance issues (*). And I think it's a lot better to cut into the "miscellaneous object finder" spell, than it would be to give invokers less power over the elements, or cut into a paladin's ability to fight evil.

(*) The player poll and the internal discussion settled on similar list of classes as far as PK power. We're working on perks for some of the less powerful options as well. I don't think the spread in power is all that wide, but we're always fine-tuning.
