You are viewing a read-only archive of the Carrion Fields discussion forums built from a snapshot of the forum database on 2026-08-25. The search page works, though it is not as sophisticated as the old forum search. This archive encompasses approximately 25 years of CF discussion. #1905, "Maybe tweak/change overhead?"

Alright awhile back it used to be that an axe spec could not pincer sleeping enemies, so we used overhead.

Now that pincer can be used on sleeping targets what is the use of overhead? I do realize that overhead only takes one axe and that is can be used in the water or something (unlike pincer). But for a three round lag I cannot see a time in a pk situation where one would not want whirl instead of overhead, as overhead did not dish out huge amounts of damage.

Maybe time for this skill to be looked at again?

Because the way I see it, the next axe spec I play, I am not going to even bother with the skill as I see no good time to ever use it.

People can be choked/stunned underwater too. Overhead is how you would most likely wand to wake them up.

But my question was is the few rare circumstances worth the three round lag and practice sessions. Personally I would rather open up with good old fashioned "murder" if I were in the situation, so I can have a chance to chase them when they flee.
