You are viewing a read-only archive of the Carrion Fields discussion forums built from a snapshot of the forum database on 2026-08-25. The search page works, though it is not as sophisticated as the old forum search. This archive encompasses approximately 25 years of CF discussion. I'm not sure how difficult this would be. But, for positive effects can you make them refresh themselves when you cast them (while already under the effect)

example

paladin is running around Sanc'd, see's an enemy. Quickly looking at his effect list, he notices that sanc wears off in 1 hr, and protection in 2. Rather than making him wait until they wear off, can we be allowed to simply recast the spell and have it "refresh" itself to the full timer?

I personally would love this.

It would require extra code in every single spell/song/skill that gives you an affect. Not something I'm interested in.

You have to balance always being prepared for a fight with being able to walk into a fight fully prepared. You don't get both.

There is one exception in the game, and that's water breathing.

So long, and thanks for all the fish!
