You are viewing a read-only archive of the Carrion Fields discussion forums built from a snapshot of the forum database on 2026-08-25. The search page works, though it is not as sophisticated as the old forum search. This archive encompasses approximately 25 years of CF discussion. Today, that discussion continues on Discord (see the main website for a link).

Some of the special-purpose forums are listed below along with their replacements (as of writing):

#647, "Carrion feeders"

Temporary mobs like vultures, crows, wolverines, coyotes, etc. that appear to scavange lonely corpses in appropriate areas, attack anyone sufficiently weak who tries to rummage through the corpse, give xp if killed, and run away/disappear once the corpse disappears.

Or even without the weak corpseguard or mob aspects, I think it would still be cool as a bit of color that doesn't affect the game, since it's called "Carrion Fields" and all. What's a gory battlefield without a bunch ravens plucking out eyeballs?

Furthermore, I think Seantryn Modan must be destroyed.

We don't need random NPC's looting corpses when the PC's running around do a fine job of it.

So long, and thanks for all the fish!

What about these random creatures appear when a lowbie attempts to take something from the corpse.

Example: Player X notices your attempt to grab Item A from corpse Y. Attracted by the battle and blood a nearby vulture strikes.

This would make lowbie looting a little more risky.
