#578, "Leverage."

How many spear/staff specs ever use this skill? How many ever even practice it?

Can you make it so this skill be used to initiate fights? At least then spear specs have an opening lagging move that can be used on trip/bash protected targets. Due to the unreliability of the kick actually "sending them sprawling" I don't think this change would make the skill or spec overpowered.

Thanks.

Of the 18 spear/staff warriors currently in existence. All of them who have the skill have practiced it except 1.

Meh.

So long, and thanks for all the fish!

It's not circular filed, so maybe you need more convincing.

I wouldn't be unrealistic, given that you could run at your foe, plant your weapon and launch into them to begin.

Could even make a couple of edges for it, I see dash + leverage having a nice little bonus of damage, or increased chance of lag due to the carried momentum, etc.

Would make Giant spear/staff specs all the more viable, as their weight would play a nice factor.

Thanks anyway.

After your initial argument broke down (who actually practices this), I really didn't care to put more into it.

So long, and thanks for all the fish!

I bet a lot of people practice the armor spell, too.

But that isn't the issue. The issue is that it's relatively useless. And ignoring how many people have the skill practiced already, it seems like a realistic, interesting and non-overpowered tweak.

Any reason, aside from annoyance at the poster, for declining?

And I'll bet a lot of people use the armor spell. I fail to see your point.

Or it has a very niche use (it has the possibility of lagging people when nothing else might be able to).

Here's a clue. When you are asking for something, feel free to just ask. Trying to justify it (and failing as this poster did) is not going to convince me that it's necessary and is likely just going to make me ignore it.

So long, and thanks for all the fish!

I'm unsure what sort of statistics you have available, but can you look up just how often leverage is used in combat (or better yet, PvP combat), or even just look up the average skill % of past spear/staff specs?

I mean it doesn't do great damage, crescent or pugil is better, and if you want to lag, why not misdirect?

It feels to me like an under used/wasted skill, and would really benefit heavier strength based races who rarely choose the spec.

Thanks again, I promise I won't try again.

Most people have it in the mid-80's or higher.

>I mean it doesn't do great damage, crescent or pugil is

Yup, much like jab for sword specs...an early skill that has niche use.

>and if you want to lag, why not misdirect?

Because there are scenarios where you can end up lagging your victim for longer than misdirect.

As it is currently written, it does benefit strength based races.

So long, and thanks for all the fish!
