You are viewing a read-only archive of the Carrion Fields discussion forums built from a snapshot of the forum database on 2026-08-25. The search page works, though it is not as sophisticated as the old forum search. This archive encompasses approximately 25 years of CF discussion. Today, that discussion continues on Discord (see the main website for a link).

#573, "Leverage"

Ok...

Can you make it so this skill be used to initiate fights? At least then spear specs have an opening lagging move that can be used on trip/bash protected targets. Due to the unreliability of the kick actually "sending them sprawling" I don't think this change would make the skill or spec overpowered.

Better, Zulgh?

Why does this make it better?

So long, and thanks for all the fish!

In the previous leverage request, you focused entirely on the dude saying that leverage was "useless", without ever addressing his actual request for the change.

I asked you about it, and you implied that the request would be better received if it was done without the bitching attached. So I copy/pasted the relevent part, for your consideration.

Thus... better.

You're damn right. When you make assumptions as to why you think something is broken and you're completely wrong. There is no reason for me to continue.

And yet...I still don't care about this issue because of the previous post, so it's not really any better.

So long, and thanks for all the fish!

It wasn't me that made the original request. I just happened to read it, ignored the #### of it and thought that it was actually a good idea.

It makes sense realistically, and it adds variety/usefulness to a pretty niche skill. But it doesn't seem like it would make anything overpowered, it would just give more options. And I can't claim to be the expert, but I would think that the coding on it would be relatively simple, compared to some other changes.

Aside from the bitching of the original post, I can't think of any reason you wouldn't be willing to take care of this.

And it doesn't really seem in the Christmas spirit, to hold back a positive change for the game, just to spite one dude, does it?
