I'm around quite a bit, but moderately, as other responsibilities and projects keep me perpetually distracted. I'm just virtually never vis, and havn't been since the cabal opened so I'm not sure when you ever saw me!

Lyr will alternate between super active and semi-inactive, and Sebeok has almost been involved in coding/implementor-y stuff rather than cabal management, though he will step in if things aren't getting taken care of.

When is a good time to get you and Lyrister's attention?

As for me, I'll be similarly unhelpful. The times where I am available enough to respond to prayers is scattered and unpredictable. The best option is to leave me a note (or two, or three) if you are trying to reach me, and then be an active player. When I have the opportunity to respond to you, I will.

Incidentally you don't have to worry about annoying/offending me with notes. I get the impression a lot of times mortals are "afraid" to leave notes to their respective imms. As long as they are IC, respectful, and spaced out by a few days or so, they are many times the best way for me to get to know your character while I am in the midst of some scattered login times.

... I see one of the possible reasons people are "afraid" as you say is that with Immortals who are wizi a lot while/after praying is:
They're not exactly sure if you're watching and waiting to learn more about them or if you're just not there and they dont want to be too bothersome, if you're watching them to see if they got what it takes for an interview.

Having played a handful of empowerment classes, I'm always wondering if I'm pestering the Immortal too much or too little before/after empowerment.

I understand where some of that feeling comes from, which is why I'm coming right out and saying, I don't mind prayers and I especially don't mind notes. I would prefer this to someone coming to me at level 50 and looking for a tattoo when I've never heard of them. While I do make an active effort to keep an eye out for empowerment classes that have one of my spheres, the rest slip through the cracks pretty easily and I won't watch them unless I've been given a direct reason to.

Can you pester? Sure.. but what "pestering" means is usually common sense. Don't write me a note every 2 hours, or pray every 10 minutes. As long as the general impression I get doesn't lead to the word "SPAM" entering my mind, I'm unlikely to feel pestered. On the contrary, I know my availability is unpredictable and I know that some classes rely on imm availability, so that said, and being a nice person, I'd rather someone put up some flags to make my job easier than be getting frusterated and silently grumbling that Amaranthe sucks.

I would just ask, like prayers, keep notes IC, though they can be IC in whatever creative way you want. If you have something to say to me OOC, I prefer e-mail.
