Please snip log below, but one specific line doesn't make any sense and the only reason I can think it is happening is that searing ward is triggering the chaos of battle. The line: Amidst the battle's chaos, your allies provide too much cover for your prayer to harm X.

Ward doesn't play into that.
And it can happen in a 2v1 if <a number of factors>.
