#69804, "Make patches of Eastern wild?"
|
Nothing too crazy, but a patch of three-five rooms of wilderness here and there, probably one on the west side adjacent to the river and one on the east adjacent to the ugruks.
That would promote more PK and make rangers much more viable. Not to mention that in a world like Thera, pretty much any road shouldn't be too civilized for its entirety, but that's another topic.

What about a group of pagan savages and priest mobs that patroll the road along with the guards. They could have a Druid that randomly does plant growth. Leave them around the same difficulty as the guards for players. Then players can interact with the area to shape it even relatively low level players. It still poses risk because you need to spend time in a high traffic area to influence the dyanamic. Plus a little bit of unpredictability spices things up especially in a high traffic zone.

You could even tie it to the current state of the Outlander/tribunal cabal war dynamic. Both canals have their item, the number of guards and druids are 1 for 1. If one cabal controls the others item it can unbalance the number of patrollers to druids/rangers to be like 3 to 1. Also, having them auto on each other like the Slayer/Enforcer would be awesome, have more corpses, and may allow vigilante goodies to slip past guards while wanted as they are engaged in combat constantly.

Surely we've got to have some graveyards mixed in there. If anywhere in Thera has seen enough death to be a graveyard, it's the eastern road.
Once we get all these changes implemented, I also suggest renaming it to "The Gauntlet" so that noobs know what they're getting into.

Right now there are no active ones. In addition it comes with huge timeouts and guards turn it back to civilized.

No swimto since the rest is still civilized and cannot follow once you flee. I would be way more scared of rangers and chameleon muters than an eel.

Should he put an "Australian sarcasm" sign on?
P.S. Eel catching you on a road is a nearly guaranteed kill, much more so than a ranger.
