Any chance "arcane lore" could be tweaked so that it gets checked when a Mystic uses the "lore" skill on a scroll and, when successful, gives the thief the same accuracy as a mage in terms of the "lore" output? That seems in keeping with the conceptual description of the "arcane lore" skill.

With sufficient proficiency, Arcane Lore will provide a roll that, if successful, will produce identify-quality results instead of lore-quality results.

What does arcane lore actually do?

Use scrolls as an equal to a mage is a bit vague.

Given that you're focusing a lot on scrolls as an arcane path, and how a lot of scrolls would be awesome if they were higher level.... just always feel it'd be cool that arcane thieves were better at scrolls than anyone else.

Unlike mages, if you "fail" something like a crimson scourge scroll it's not exactly easy to get another one... whereas a caster can just keep casting it. There's also a lot of neat lower level scrolls that rarely get love.

Especially with caballed people.

But as a thief you can relatively easily get crimson scourge scrolls.
