What about lances? They do pierce through shields or even break them? Think polearms specs are highlighting that they don't have a maledict attack which can effectively cripple another.

How about this though.
1. Give polearm specs a better charge from the avg joe warrior. Give them a chance to stun an opponent for two or three rounds when they charge.
2. I picture polearm specs as being good for battling multiple opponents. Add to this by adding arc chop. Arc chop let's the polearm spec hit anyone fighting him with a weakened chop.
I think both of these would spice up polearm nicely and add some new strategies, but not make them overpowered. That which does not kill us, makes us stronger.
