#33293, "Idea: Favored Armor and Favored Weapon."

The idea being basically this.

The Longer you wield a certain weapon the better it becomes. It wouldn't get better just buy carrying it, you would have to wield it, though swapping it out for another weapon wouldn't help/hurt you so long as you held it in inventory. Nor would having it looted as long as you got it back.

Favored armor: Same as above, except only matters if you wear it.

This only affects specific pieces of armor or weapons. Not armor types or weapon types. So if I was wearing a moonstone Breastplate it would get better. But if it was taken away from me and I got another, the benifit wouldn't be the same. But if I lucked out and got that specific piece back, then great!

Think of it as wilderness time for equipment.

Prog gear should probably be exempt from this idea.

If anything, people are way too attached to their gear as is. This would further push people towards risk aversion.

A lot of my hero's near hero's have some fine leather still, and I would guess all have some moonstone.

Any changes would have to include players of all skill levels. Past a certain point, most people are going to be wearing better armor.

Would be much more common if you knew you were taking away someones accrued benefits of having something for a long time.

That logic holds the same for regular armor.

Because it does even moreso if you are sacing something that the person had been using for a long time. It would be like a lite version of AP unholies, where people would full sac gear of an enemy just to make sure that they don't have any favored up weapons or gear.

Sacrifice someones fine leather's and moonstone because it might have an extra +1/+1 to hit/damage.

I mean it makes sense realism wise and could be cool but big picture I think it will just encourage more conservatism from people worried about losing their gear.

Not that I can see the future, but overall, I predict implementing this would be a negative thing for the mud.
