#32604, "Fist of the Titans"

Someone posted on the "other board" that fist only prevents disarming 50% of the time. I've never taken the legacy, but, I have a hard time believing that the legacy designed to protect against disarming only works 1/2 of the time. If its true, then that's kind of a ####ty legacy. To me, the ability to wield heavier weapons isn't enough of a benefit to reduce the chance of not being disarmed to 50%. It's more of a fringe benefit.
So, can anyone from the staff confirm or deny this stat?

You might not see the benefit of having an extra 10 lbs wieldable at any time but that does not mean it is super extremely useful.
Bear in mind that.
1.) There are other ways to prevent getting disarmed, spider hands, iron grip, no remove. The only way to increase max weild no longer exists unless nep lets you into silent tower.
2.) Weapon avaerage is scaled with weapon weight. That is 2 weapons of the same type and level the heavier one likely will have a higher average. So this allows you to wield more high average weapons.
3.) the legacy does help at the top end and a lot of people use it for that however the real gold is on the bottom end of the wield weight spectrum. For instance as an axe spec with fist I could dual wield certain axes even if you land -100000000000000000000 str on me and if your goal is to just keep weapons in your hand this is without doubt your best bet.

It's entirely possible I'm forgetting something, but I have no idea what this would be.

It is entirely possible I didn't fully understand the gauntlets of unassailable might. But they are least seemed to be fist of the titans like.

Ah. Nope. What you could see on your affects is what they were.

It works more than that.
That being said, the bonus to wield weight is I think the best argument to pick it -- either because you want to wield something or a combination of somethings that should be too heavy for you, or because you're planning to wield a combination of somethings that -str absolutely cannot get out of your hands with that bonus in play.

I suppose that is a good point.
Does it work more than 75% of the time?
Also, I suppose it should be noted that even though it doesn't work all the time, all you need is it to fire a few times in pk and it will discourage people fom wasting two rounds trying to disarm you, making it even more effective.

During Kardok's time, I was almost wearing a noremove weapon. This would change when I would have to switch out Armageddon to fight a paladin. The fact is that a failed disarm never once stopped a person from trying it again. They would do their eyejab equivalent thing, and disarm until it went through, which it nearly always did on either the first or second attempt. Fist of the titans was so unreliable that I even experimented with keeping on a Divine Power weapon against paladins so that I wouldn't lose all my spare weapons. Also, I don't think that fist ever worked to prevent an offhand disarm in that character's life. Like Daev said, it was far nicer for being able to wield heavier weapons with trapping than it was for its spiderhands affect.

It would be cool if a retaliatory strike could be made on the person trying to disarm you, if you had this legacy. Just an automatic, unblockable melee hit.

I tend to agree with that and I'd think about changing it.
Dude with Fist should know that Fist beat the disarm attempt, but probably no one else should.
