From logs I've seen the rings of regeneration healing isn't affected by protections. Am I wrong or are they supposed to be that way?

If I had to guess, they're supposed to be that way.

They used to be written in a way that protections would cut down, and someone (presumably Scarabaeus) changed that.

On the other hand, they used to heal roughly 4-5x as much, as a combination of firing much more often and healing more each time.

How come an object heals through protections, but a creature (archon) who acts like a pc or npc healer (which are not burdened by protections) does not?

Healing items are rare enough that I wouldn't mind none of them being affected by protections. Off the top of my head I can only think of about 10-15 items that heal in combat. Could we please get these changed back?

How about making archons not object-like in their healing. I can accept the rings being better then other healing items, they are from an area explore. From a gameplay standpoint there is no logical reason archons should be burdened by protections.

Balance maybe yes, game logic no way.
