#10176, "Rangers, ambush, and sleeping targets."
|
I've recently noticed that, at least in some situations, sleeping targets of ambush are waking up before the damage hits them.
I may be way off, but this seems like a new thing to me.
Was this a recent, conscious decision in order to remove the "sleeping-target" damage booster from Ambush? Or has it always been like this?

As far as I can recall, there hasn't been a 'sleeping target' bonus to ambush since Cador and I rewrote the skill around 1998 or so. Equally, other than the addition of the various ambush types, the skill hasn't changed too significantly since then.

Whilst I openly admit to have no knowledge of what the code currently looks like, I'm pretty sure that there's a small advantage to ambushing a sleeping target. I don't think that it's via the old-and-long-gone multiplier, though.
