  Within the dome of trees rangers talk in hushed tones as they go about their

sacred rowan trees. One leads back to the gathering place the other gives
quick access to the forest beyond should rangers be needed in haste. A
grizzled old guildmaster watches over a group of young rangers who are here

whA Gathering Place
  The sounds of the forest filter beneath the arch of two massive rowan
trees, their branches intertwining high above. The surrounding trees have
woven themselves together forming a small enclosed grove. Strangely feeling
as though indoors and outdoors simultaneously, it is both warm and comforting.
Resting here and there are rangers of several races, many covered in soot and
ash. Others busy themselves tending to wounded or sick animals, applying
poultices to burns or splints to broken limbs. Others stand apart, the elves 
wishing to have nothing to do with the humans or the darker of their guild.
To the west is an archway leading further into the grove.

A Thin Game Trail
  Just off the forest road, the contrast is quite remarkable. Although the
trees still tower above, they seem much less ominous than those to the west.
The sunlight filters down from the canopy and the entire forest hums with
life. Insects buzz, birds trill their music above, animals call to each
other through the trees, and the air is thick with motes of pollen floating
on the breeze. The thin game trail runs east to west along a thin ridge and
appears to be well-traveled by the inhabitants of the forest, both quadruped
and biped.
