Guenrayn really hated any mage tribunal. They always seemed to bend the law to make him a criminal. THat last time you flagged me in the chasm, I knew it was bs, but you stuck to it. And because of it, I killed Venlorn, and Farnsworth twice. Ah well, you were a fun fight always...good work and you deserved all the attention you got, from what I could see. You were a hard one to catch.

In response to Reply #45

I can honestly say that any flag I laid, especially those when I was outside of the city were well thought through and all met certain criteria. The flag on you at the chasm met all the criteria, I was with guards, engaging criminals and in you come and pull me out right after Rustanviel phantasms. There has been more than one occassion we have engaged with no guards, which was always fair game, but guard mean I am restricted and thats a two way street.

Anyway keep on truckin you hand specs are a bitch to deal with, I'll post some more of our tangles when I get my log culling program working =0)

Here is the chasm log, which shows a couple of things:
1: The flag was legit (attacking Justiciar on duty)
2: Scions loved to play the "Wantedgoodies is RAIDING!" and hated when it was "WantedScion in chasm when getting raided"

Would be great to be able to show folks that "yes", they were indeed breaking the law. Wish that even half of the people that threatened to post logs of unjust actions would have posted them. Case in point, Guenrayn, I take it you see why you were flagged now?

It sure looked like the criminal was dead, and Uelveyee was sitting there with guards. If they had attacked you while you were fighting the criminal, then ok. But even though it was shortly after, it was still AFTER. In other words, you shouldn't have had guards, and they shouldn't have been flagged.

Ragers were smart, knew the law and waited untill the wanted criminal was dispatched. When there was no criminal, regardless of you having guards still there, you flagged them for a woefully inadequate reason. I think you were wrong to have flagged them here but the past is past.

In response to Reply #51

Perhaps I'm not seeing it, but I don't see where Uelveyye wanted Rustanviel anywhere in this log, so it would appear that Rustanviel had been wanted when he arrived, therefore Uelveyye was fighting a criminal, and Guenrayn's flag would be just. However, I do agree with your assessment otherwise, Abernyte. If Rustanviel wasn't wanted when he sung frightful fiend, then none of the villagers should have been wanted. I do take a little bit of reserve though, and say perhaps try and think of it from Uelveyye's side. He's hunting down a criminal, and two seconds after he finishes it, he's attacked. That's got to be severely annoying.

She was out hunting criminals with guards.
The criminal died and she stood with his corpse.
She _still_ had guards though and they attack her, so
I say it was a fair flag.

Lets try this scenario:

It was a rager fighting the criminal, I down the criminal then quickly drop the guards and hit the rager while hes almost dead.

The guards are as much a restriction on me as they are on them. If there had been no guards there then there would have been no flag. I had tangled numerous times with villagers when I had no guards and noone got flagged.

I knew how fast I would go down to a rager so no there was never many times I was 3D when one was close. Although Trekalsh nailed me one time when duo expired at the blood sq and he just logged in and walked east. I think that was a 5 hit wonder kill.

Thats not part of the laws though, is it? I'm not looking at a copy of them, so I don't know. I thought it said no helping a criminal, i.e. fighting tribunals with them, fighting special guards, etc. He wasn't doing that there, since the criminal was already dead.

I don't see where a Rager would care about a Justicars' rules for having special guards. The only thing that should matter to him, is weather it's against the laws or not.

What part of Rust being wanted didn't you notice?
But anyway why would they not care about the Justiciar's rules?
Their rules are their interpretations on the Spirit of the Law, which is what they enforce. Guen pulled me away from a criminal. But even if there was no criminal if the pull had failed he would have been fighting the guards, which as you noted is a written law. So what? if the Pull had failed it wouldn't have been a crime? That falls under the successful blackjack concept.

People need to understand what it is Justiciars do, they are not about the written letter of the law. They have much more leeway to flag or not flag depending on the intent and actions of the accused. Which is why I removed flags from some (Scions included) on occassion when it was clear that the intent was to cause chaos.

Anyway I could write a disertation on it, suffice to say whether people thinks so or not I put a lot of thought into Uel's role as a Justiciar.

Wow, very good show......We had so many interactions, both in hunting together, and when I was wanted and I was the prey......you played your role flawlessly, and I admired you so much OOC...

IC, Tynnyn felt a great deal of affection for you, in part because he has a soft spot for elves and in part because he knew thath you were fighting for the Light in your own way.....some of the best RP experiences I had were with you, especially the time I turned myself in and...well, you know.

I'll miss you, Uelveyye, and good luck with your next character.

I forgive you for leaving me out of the goodbyes.

OOC I loved your char IC Uel's friendship with you was cherished.

****It all starts then I'm on Eastern road and I locate Kelin's corpse
****I go to investigate and find Tynnyn there.

In a Stunted Forest

A decrepit looking wooden bow lies here.
( 2) A small cake of unleavened bread lies here.
A small leather bracer rests here.
Red and blistered flesh covers the corpse of Kelin.
Nycoe is here.
(White Aura) Taninthel is here.
Darente is here.
(WANTED) Tynnyn is here.
man Tynnyn
Uelveyye's lieutenant has arrived.
Uelveyye's lieutenant has arrived.

You slap the manacles on Tynnyn.

Taninthel smirks.
Uelveyye's lieutenant yells 'Tynnyn is a CRIMINAL! PROTECT THE INNOCENT!!'
Uelveyye's lieutenant MUTILATES Tynnyn!
Uelveyye's lieutenant MUTILATES Tynnyn!
Uelveyye's lieutenant misses Tynnyn.
Uelveyye's lieutenant yells 'Tynnyn is a CRIMINAL! PROTECT THE INNOCENT!!'
Uelveyye's lieutenant DISMEMBERS Tynnyn!

The lightning has stopped.

Uelveyye's lieutenant's slash MUTILATES Tynnyn!
Uelveyye's lieutenant's slash devastates Tynnyn!
Uelveyye's lieutenant's slash devastates Tynnyn!

Tynnyn leaves west.
Tynnyn has fled!

You tell Tynnyn 'I would like to meet and deal with this issue, I do not like having my friend marked so'

Tynnyn tells you 'No kiddin, there.'

You tell Tynnyn 'choose the place then'

Tynnyn tells you 'Yer not goin' t'try and take me down?'

Tynnyn tells you 'I'll accept yer word if ya give it.'

You tell Tynnyn 'I will not hunt you, but we will settle this'

Tynnyn tells you 'I'll meet and speak with ya. You know th'inn in th'Jualdhe village?'

You tell Tynnyn 'aye'

Tynnyn tells you 'WHen I can get th'manacles off of my legs I'll get there.'

Uelveyye thanks her lieutenant for her faithful service.

You send Uelveyye's lieutenant back home.
Uelveyye's lieutenant stops following you.

Uelveyye thanks her lieutenant for her faithful service.

You send Uelveyye's lieutenant back home.
Uelveyye's lieutenant stops following you.

You tell Tynnyn 'I rest in the wind-filled shrine'

Tynnyn tells you 'I'll join ya shortly.'

Tynnyn tells you 'Show me th'respect by not havin' yer guards loomin' over us, eh?'

You tell Tynnyn 'no I have dismissed them '

Tynnyn has arrived.

You sigh as you think of him.

Tynnyn nods his huge head in greeting.

Tynnyn stops using a broad-headed silver hammer.

Tynnyn stops using a broad-headed silver hammer.

Tynnyn hangs his hammers on the hooks on his belt.

Tynnyn looks at you.

You say 'let us step down '

Tynnyn raises an eyebrow.

Tynnyn has arrived.

You say 'what I am to do with you?'

Tynnyn chuckles, smiling slightly.

Uelveyye chides you for your actions.

Tynnyn says 'Don't chide me fer doin' my duty.....'
You nod.

Tynnyn says 'My battles with Zarukian were spillin' in through th'gates.'

You say 'then you must not chide me for mine'

Tynnyn says 'So bloody heated I wasn't even aware we got into th'city.'

You say 'I have no wish to run around thera with a set of manacles with your name on'

Tynnyn says 'If yer wonderin' what happenend.'

You nod.
Tynnyn says 'I'll not take yer life, nor th'life of any elfin.'

You say 'yet my duty demands I must take yours'

Tynnyn says 'I was doin' nothin' wrong.'

You raise an eyebrow at the notion.

Tynnyn says 'Yer a good person, Uelveyye. But th'law is misguided.'

Tynnyn says 'Laws t'protect th'vile and darkhearted are corrupt.'

You say 'the law protects more than the dark'

Tynnyn says 'No kiddin', there.'

You say 'it is the burden I bear that it must protect them to protect the innocent'

Tynnyn snorts.

Tynnyn says 'Yer killin' me is protectin' th'innocent.'

Tynnyn says 'Zarukian, on of of th'most tainted bastards in Thera.'

Tynnyn looks grim as he prepares himself for battle.

Tynnyn kneels and utters the words, 'rroga'tara bal rroga'.
Tynnyn's form is obscured briefly by a mantle of brilliant silvery-white flames.

You say 'no my bringing you to justice fights the darkness, because I cannot stand by you side against them while you bear the mark'

Tynnyn says 'There's somethin' wrong with a law like that'

Tynnyn says 'Ya expect me t'give up my life because I ended th'darkwalkers?'

You say 'no I expect you to give it to further the fight against the dark'

Tynnyn says 'Nothin's keepin me from fightin' th'dark.'

You say 'will you become like Abthalok who has sworn to kill me'

Tynnyn says 'Perhaps ya missed th'giants corpse at my feet when ya burst in.'

You say 'I didn't miss it, that is what drew me there'

Tynnyn says 'Th'problem is'

Tynnyn says 'Is that th'tribunal are a mixed lot.'

Tynnyn says 'If they were all th'necromancers and tainted ones, th'Maran would have no troubles doin' their duty.'

Mendekith has arrived.
Iahlell has arrived.

Mendekith leaves up.
Iahlell leaves up.

<19 Human A-P> Mendekith the Complete Bastard

You say 'speaking of evil toadies'

<19 Human Nec> Iahlell the Grand Sorcerer

Tynnyn says 'Its th'good ones like you that make th'job difficult.'

You say 'yet it people like Kaebe and I that keep the Spire from becoming filled with self serving evils'

Tynnyn says 'If I was younger, eh. I'd have no trouble with layin' down my life for ya.

Tynnyn says 'I was doin' it often in my youth......no thoughts of mortality crossin' my mind back then.'

Tynnyn stretches, wincing slightly in pain as his shoulders creak.

Tynnyn says 'I'm gettin' older, eh.'

You say 'aye there are none of us getting any fewer wrinkles'

Tynnyn says 'I wish t'fight for th'light as long as I can. And that means not dyin' as often as I did.'

Tynnyn says 'WIll ya continue t'hunt me, Uelveyye?'

You say 'I would think one as noble as you would be granted the opportunity to gain better health'

Tynnyn chuckles at your joke.

Tynnyn says 'Perhaps it'll happen, eh.'

Tynnyn says 'Whose t'say.'

Tynnyn says 'If ya ask me t'lay down my life, I'll not deny you'

Tynnyn says 'But if ya demand it as tribunal, I'll bloody knock ya out cold and run again.

Entrancehall
An empty, barren room confronts you. The floor is mottled grey, as if
with dust and age. Bookcases line the room, but only a handful of shelves
remain in them, and there are no books or scrolls to be seen. A simple
stairway leads up, further into the shrine, if such a place could yet
be called a shrine. You may escape this wordless place down the stairs
to the south, as well.

(WANTED) Tynnyn is here.
man Tynnyn

You slap the manacles on Tynnyn.

Tynnyn says 'And I'm wishin' ya hadn't done that. If they're bein' scions, th'hoarde willk now where I am.'

You say 'I will send you home'

Tynnyn gets a water skin from the girdle of endless space.

Tynnyn says 'Nah'

Tynnyn says 'I'm livin' in Tar Valon'

Mendekith has arrived.
Iahlell has arrived.

Mendekith looks at Tynnyn.

Mendekith looks at you.

Mendekith leaves down.
Iahlell leaves down.

Tynnyn says to you 'I was goin' t'suggest that we walk elsewhere...'

You say 'its a reflexive thing'

Tynnyn glances meaningfully at the chains tied about his ankles.

Your cheeks are burning.

** *we move to another location
Tynnyn sits down and rests.

You nod.

Tynnyn says 'Now as I was sayin''

Tynnyn says 'If ya ask me as an old friend t'lay down my life, I'd gladly give it up fer ya, elfin.'

Tynnyn says 'But if yer demandin' as a tribunal because of th'crimes I've commited, yer goin' t'have t'work for it.'

You say with a quiver of emotion 'if we were not friends my task and job would be so easy'

Tynnyn chuckles politely.

Tynnyn claps you lightly on the back.

Uelveyye glares at you her eyes starting to brim.

Tynnyn says 'I'd much rather have yer friendship than make yer job easy.

Tynnyn says 'Uelveyye....I'm goin' t'make it easy on ya'

Tynnyn stands up.

Tynnyn's hands flash brilliantly as he forges pure light into a shimmering white longsword!

Uelveyye wipes the single silver tear from her eye.

Tynnyn wields a shimmering white longsword.

Tynnyn says 'SO that I may continue my fight, and ya can continue t'do your duty without worryin' about me.'

Tynnyn turns the blade around in his hands and places the tip against his chest.

Tynnyn closes his eyes and, falling foward, impales himself on the blade.

Tynnyn mutters something quietly to himself.

Tynnyn gasps in astonishment.

Tynnyn says 'Hard t'do.'

Tynnyn mutters something quietly to himself.

Tynnyn closes his eyes, shaking slightly.

Tynnyn says 'Just need a moment t'gather myself, eh.'

You say with a voice thick with emotion 'not for my job, but for our friendship'

Uelveyye fondly touches your check with her delicate hand.

Tynnyn looks at you.

Uelveyye tries to compose herself.

Tynnyn reaches up and encompases your hand in his own.

Tynnyn says 'Dunna worry, friend.'

Tynnyn says 'When th'Maran succeed...they'll be no need fer any of this.'

You say trying to muster some humor 'how would it look with me holding hands with a wanted criminal'

Tynnyn chuckles politely.

You say 'I will be glad of that day'

Tynnyn releases your hand gently.

Tynnyn says 'Yah.....I'm wishin' ya would have joined my battle, Uelveyye.'

Tynnyn says 'Th'Fortress'd be that much brighter with you in it.'

Tynnyn looks grim as he prepares himself for battle.

You say 'we each fight how we can'

Tynnyn nods slightly.

You say 'my path led elsewhere'

Tynnyn rises slowly to his feet.

Producing a small rag from his pocket, Tynnyn uses it to rub a shimmering white longsword clean.

Losing the will to live, Tynnyn commits suicide.

You sob quietly to yourself.

Tynnyn has arrived.

Tynnyn says 'Yah..'

Uelveyye turns away trying to hide the tears streaming down her face.

Tynnyn frowns, his own eyes shimmering.

Tynnyn reaches over and embraces you gently, careful to not use too much of his strength.

Uelveyye buries her face in your chest and sobs.

Tynnyn says softly 'Its in th'past, eh....I'm used t'fallin.'

Tynnyn says softly 'Just never done it at my own hands before.

You say haltingly ''ii..it ne..never cease to t....test my heart'

Tynnyn says softly 'We each have t'deal with th'pain our decisions bring us.....'

Tynnyn says softly 'It never gets any easier.....'

Uelveyye holds on to you tightly till the storm of her anguish subsides.

Tynnyn says softly 'And if it did, I'd worry that my own heart was hardenin'.'

Tynnyn nods.

Uelveyye pushes herself out of your embrace and tries to regain her composure.

Tynnyn says 'Thank ya, old friend, for givin' me th'chance t'at least speak with ya.'

Tynnyn says 'It was a horrible feelin' bein' set upon like that, in th'Dwarf forest......'

Uelveyye wipes her tear-stained face.

Tynnyn says to you 'If it was anyone but you, I'da just done what I do t'those of th'light who are misguided...'

You say trying to laugh 'I was as quite suprised to find you there'

Tynnyn says 'You were surprised, eh!'

Tynnyn says 'I get done smashin' th'shaman and Trajeona's just fleein' when you bust in.'

Uelveyye takes a small embroidered hankerchief from her robe.

Uelveyye blows her nose a resounding honk.

Tynnyn winces slightly, trying his best to hide it.

Tynnyn sighs, sitting back against the wall.

I so wish that Uelveyye and Tynnyn and Ulthur could have gotten together. It could have been some awesome roleplay, with one Talon that loved you and one Talon that hated you together. Rats.

Farewell Uelveyye, and well played. You stuck with this character for a long time and it shows a lot of dedication in a cabal with a lot of very short-lived characters.

In fighting you I thought you were a bit too cockey for a lone transmuter...I killed you two of the three times we fought, as different characters. You could have gotten away, but you went for the kill...which doesn't always work so well for transmuters.

Regardless, well played and good luck in the future. It's sad to see you go.

Your role is:
Added Fri May 10 11:25:05 2002 at level 10:
"Uelveyyeloneslerralathenthalas, I have told you too many times to be counted
by the wisest scholars of the court: Stop this infantile obsession
with that half-breed!" Her mother's voice almost took on a timber
of passion.....almost.
Once again she was being scolded, well scolded would not be the best word
that might imply or even hint that her mother cared about her in the slightest
this was more of a formal reprimand, a dressing down similar to that which
her mother might give a servant for having the silverware incorrectly
spaced on a place setting for dinner.
Uelveyye sets her jaw and juts her chin out defiantly, hoping to provoke
further confict with her mother, after all some attention is better than none.
But despite the fact that sneaking off to listen and learn from Seralela
was the one thing that exasperated her otherwise unattentive mother
it was not the real reason she did so. Uelveyye was truly fascinated by the
the woman, a halfbreed elf and a guildmaster of her craft no less.
Since the day they met she had been awed by her poise, her humor, her grace
(uncharacteristic of a halfbreed) and the respect and deferance shown to her
by the populace of Darslyon.
"You are a lady of the court, remember that..." her mother's voice drones on.
In her mind's eye Uelveyye is once again the day before her 100th birthday.
Sitting with her feet in the fountain in the middle of the square

daring the guards to tell her father or challenge her. Meeting every disapproving
stare with a look of defiance. Watching the ripples expand in ever growing
rings around her slender ankles. Some joining with others and
growing others cancelling each other out. Suddenly two more epicenters
appear creating ripples of their own...but with no obvious source.
Uelveyye gasped and stared in disbelief, and with a silvery laugh, cascading
like the falling drops of water from the fountain head, Seralela popped into view.
"Don't gawk child, people will think you a simpleton staring with your mouth
hanging open like that."

Added Fri May 10 14:39:17 2002 at level 10:
"You... you...your a half-elf!" Uelveyye stammered. "I am also half-human
little one" smiled Seralela. Uelveyye glanced around nervously fearing the
gaze of the guards. Paddling in the fountain was one thing, she knew
most of the guards by name and it was really unfair of her to tease them so.
She loved nothing better than to argue her case, hands on hips, on the differnce
of the cities laws and elven etiquette. That might get her one of her fathers
chidings, or her mothers infamous "importance of status" lectures, but this!?
This would would have her sent to her chambers for a month! She knew how her mother
distainfully disapproved of other races within the city, but the half-elven wanderer
who had taken up the position of guildmistress, she knew made her mother seethe

like cold fire. Her heart pounded in her throat as the womans gaze held her, guards
approached, but instead of asking the two to remove themselves from the fountain, they
bowed respectfully to Seralela and kept marching.
"Have I made myself clear?" "Yes mother" Uelveyye murmers her litany"
"Uelveyyeloneslerralathenthalas Aye'lya Darsylonathas I swear you will bring
shame to this house yet if you do not mend your errant ways"
"Yes mother"

Added Tue Jun 11 19:12:22 2002 at level 14:
"What am I doing wrong?" Uelveyye's voice scaled octaves in frustration.
"You are trying to hard, you must let it flow from within" her mentor
replied in a soothing voice. "Remember our magic flows through us
taking form and strength from the will and purity of your being."
"I will never master these spells" sulked the perturbed elven maid.
"No you shall, but first you must master yourself. That is the
key so many overlook." Seralela's vibrant voice admonished.
"You cannot stay here young one, this city and it's politics
are not good for you. While you stay amonst your kind your
predjudices will be reinforced, you need to see the world and
realize who you are. Your trials will be hard, but through hardship
we grow. You must seek out the purity in yourself and
from it the purity of your craft shall flow."

Uelveyye gnawed on the corner of her lower lip. The world was
so wide, and she had not yet mastered her spells.
Noticing her pupil's apprehension the half-elf laughed
and ran her delicate fingers through her hair.
"You will be fine Uelveyye, return to me when you are ready
to learn new spells, or tire of the road, besides your father
would uproot the kingdom were you to be gone for too long"
Taking a small worn leather journal from her robe, Seralela
pauses almost caressing it. "Here, take this with you. These
are the journals of my travels when I was young. The may bring you
comfort and strength on yours."

Added Wed Sep 18 21:59:18 2002 at level 51:
Running a delicate hand across the smooth and worn leather journal
Uelveyye thinks back to her youth, her travels and her trials, her long path
to now. Walking silently through the market place she smiles at
the old familiar stone beneath her feet, the fountain where it all began.
Gliding into the guild she smiles as Seralela scolds a young magus on his
pronounciation. The guildmistress stops in mid lecture "that will be all for today"
her crisp voice brooks no argument and her pupils up and leave.
"Do you plan on staying flat? Trying to prove your skill to me young Uelveyye?"

Stepping out Uelveyye smiles fondly at her old mentor, and silently hands the
journal to her. "I see" Seralela noticed the worn cover and the care with
which her journal has been kept. "Thank you, I hope it was of use to you."
With tears shimmering in their eyes the two embrace and Uelveyye whispers
"No, thank you"

been lifted, and she is now flawless in her elegant

In response to Reply #0

Well it finally happened. Old age would have been nice.
I have no idea where to start here. I know a lot of people hated me IC or just plain did not understand why Uelveyye was so driven (at least I hoped that came through in my RP). I'll post her role and descriptions underneath this so people might see. I also have probably 800 hours of logs for this char, some very boring, but some great RP, hunting, and me getting smacked down in 4 hits buy iron axe weilding village berserkers. I'll be going though to post the best stuff over the next few days. I think I used every extra train and spare practices on con. Lots of exploring deaths, lots of charging in thinking I was a warrior and lots of risk taking.

Anyway to the thanks and goodbyes:

Dugruain: Grumpy, long-bearded-floor-sweeping dwarf. Thanks for the induction and for prodding me into the Leadership role.

Bria: Even with everything you were busy with always had time and words of wisdom for me, I hope I did the Justiciar position Justice (no pun intended)

Noldruk: Man you blew off my Birthday party!! I was just about to ask you if you'd come have an ale with us when you looged off! Anyway good luck with everything, I'll post some of out interactions later.

Rocheval: You were quite smitten with me (I could tell) and although Uel had similar feelings that whole leader/magistrate tension thing your paladin honor was a hoot. Great char I was bummed when you deleted.

Kaebe: Similar respectful admiration thing, great char hunting with you we were deadly. Unless you went charging into the midst of 5 scions when I wasn't ready (laugh).

Deigrek: The Lich Magistrate. OOC loved your char, IC distrusted you immensely. I was totally torn with my desire to have the spire strong and the horror at unleashing another Lich into the population. Again a well played char.

Brandulir: Another I had wish had stuck around, you would have made a good Vindicator, but everyone thought with the demise of Astein there would be no more.

Abthalok: more tangles than I would have liked, always hated facing down a lightwalker expecial one as fierce as you.

Gorach: dang we had some fun times!

Lardovian: well I said it in your goodbye thread. Old fart lived longer than me!

Arengakar/Zjemmur: more fun adventures.

urgh so many people so many, that the problem with being a 1000 years old!! Just holler out and Ill give my reflections/memories and maybe some logs.

Anyway it was a great run, I was happy to bring some integrity back into the Spire.

Ill post my role next.

ciao

Having had more than my share of Tribbys, I really liked the fact that in my interview with you...you seemed to actually want only intelligent magistrates who were truelly dedicated. Some of the other Povincial Magistrates in the past have just inducted with a minimum of interaction, and I really respected that you seemed to give each and every applicant real consideration.

I think I was your first induction as a magistrate, and you told me not to let you down.

I usually don't have any regrets with any of my characters, because it is just a game and I do what I can to have fun and perhaps let others have fun too....but I really regretted the fact that I just COULD NOT seem to be online enough to be effective as a magistrate, especially during the time when there were 18+ hero range sylvans.

I regret not being able to live up to the expectations you outlined for Ilyatur, and am glad you were obviously able to have fun with Uelveyye for so long.

Seriously though, I like Uelveyye a lot and it's a shame you are gone. The criminals out there are going to have it so much easier now. You were a good friend to hang out with and we made a good team when fighting together.

You will be back! I order you!

Well, our first few meetings realy pissed Abthalok off, aswell as myself. He always thought you were a bit evil after you got me in SL while I was helping that group rank, and then I think 2 of them died after I did because they couldn't handle all the undeads. Then when you attacked me while I was in Shok's shrine praying. Ever since that day, I always carried an iron mace or sword with me, heh.

We had some good fights, and you pretty much altered my style of play. I would run around spaming "where", aswell as "where guard" when I knew you were around. I also never worded (when I wasn't fleeing for my life) without a sanc and iron weapon in hand getting ready to shield bash you.

Oh, and that time I actually did kill you (I think we were 1 for 1?), then hung around talking to you while you called in some backup, I more than ab was pissed about that. He was more pissed about being killed by another paladin with an anti-paladin....

Anyway, you were well played, I never expected any diffrent from you, I would have played the same way if I was you, wich always pissed me off even more . You brought a facet of fun into the chars life in a pretty boring part. From an rp stance, you were pretty much evil, so killing you wasn't a big deal. Anyway good job, see you in the fields.

IC I did feel for those other lightwalkers in Shadar, but Uel's perspective on it was that it was the Criminal's actions which started the chain of events, anything that happened after that was their responsibility.
The shrine thing I have to admit was shere frustration both IC and OOC which I regreted both. However like most slips with the char it was an opportunity to RP and sparked of several talks with Bria and a long stint praying at Shokai's Shrine for forgiveness.
IC Uel admired your passion but was angered that one would so blithely forgo a tennant of the code. OCC I think you play a consumate Maran. Used to hate when Scion would holler for me to come to the Chasm when you raided, but bitch when I showed when one of them was wanted.

Rustanviel hated the fact that he always got flagged defending the village.... As a player, I thought you did a great job, as a character, I hated you as much as anyone else out there. I got flagged four times for hitting your guards before I ever got flagged for any crime committed in the city. Well played, good luck on the next.... since I really don't know anything about the character other than the effects it had on me, I don't have too much else to say.

yeah I'm pretty sure I was a well hated character.
I, like Kaebe, have a lot of: Criminal tells you "You f**Kin suck" logged somewhere. I think I might write a text parser and pull then all out at some point for a laugh.
But Uel was only ever at a the village when there was a criminal (or as a magistrate when Lardo needed to get the grimoire) and the rule stood: I would never strike at the guardians, when the guards where there I was not aggressive to non criminals. Usually if people were observant they would figure my pattern out: I was where the criminal was, he was at the outer guardian, so was I. He withdrew, so would I. This would pretty much allow the raid to continue with minimum interference from me and applied to all cabals.

Anyway I have to say that I definitely saw your skill increase through our incounters, good job and keep on truckin.

even though you think im evil and ruthless and all . OOC i thought it was very nice of you to give stuff back to all the goodie criminals and most other criminals...ic my thoughts were different. I really did enjoy our discussions about the light and dark within the spire..and me sticking to my view and you to yours. That day i really disagreed with you sitting just one step east of the giant, where you could easily be pulled west and entwined then there is no escape. Nice run and best of luck with next.

Since no one replied to my deleting (whimper) and you haven't responded to my post on here yet... I kinda was looking for a response. Did I at least come off as polite? Did that kind of sylvan/justicar relationship work? Since we were both goodies, and I fought you and Kaebe more than anyone else, I was trying to balance my alignment

Where to start... how about OOC first.

I thought you were a pretty good Tribunal, from what I saw. I would like to read your role, if you get around to posting it. It's got to be rough, playing an elf arcane. Not going to do so good against those Ragers, no matter the preps.

IC, Ulthur detested you more than any other person alive, save maybe the various liches that have been about in his lifetime.

While he doesn't agree with it, he understands that a Tribunal that attacks other lightwalkers is just doing their duty, and being sphere honor, respect and duty are two of the things he holds in the highest regard. Really enjoyed our early interactions, especially when that fire giant attacked the Maran and I retaliated, and you set up the duel for us, then some good roleplaying when I turned myself in.

As far as Ulthur was concerned, however, that all went away when you attacked Abthalok in Shokai's shrine. I try to play Ulthur as a true holy warrior, and he wouldn't ever attack ANYONE in a shrine, since he considers it disrespectful to the gods. A lightwalker, attacking another lightwalker, in one of the gods of Lights shrine... there pretty much isn't anything worse in his eyes. After that, he had not an ounce of respect for you, and any time your name came up with other lightwalkers, he had nothing but feelings of disgust and contempt. Even the evil ones he fought, he held some respect for. So to put things in perspective, on Ulthur's list of least favorite people it would read liches, Uelveyye, evils. Fortunately, it is also part of my role that Ulthur has never and will never attack one of the light, so we didn't have to deal with that.

Good luck with your next!

.ulthur

editing- just noticed your role posted a few lines up. I'll go read that now

You tell Ulthur 'it saddens me to see you so marked'

Ulthur tells you 'I am saddened it was required.'

Ulthur tells you 'When the Maran is assaulted in the name of the law, it will not be excused.'

You tell Ulthur 'and when was this done?'

Ulthur tells you 'Earlier this eve.'

You tell Ulthur 'and was a maran wanted when this happened?'

Ulthur tells you 'When Nraglathoc has paid for this intrusion, I will turn myself in.'

Ulthur tells you 'The Maran? No, I speak of our guardian. There was a Dawn that was a criminal at the time.'

You tell Ulthur 'Nraglathoc assaulted the guardian?'

Ulthur tells you 'She did.'

You say 'Ulthur claimed you assaulted the Maran?'

Nraglathoc says 'Ter get ter the criminal Gromez who hid inside'

You say 'he is a Dawnite?'

Nraglathoc says 'And them are past the outer Maran'

Ulthur tells you 'I have never been marked a criminal in my life, but such an intrusion cannot be left unpunished.'

You tell Ulthur 'I see'

Nraglathoc says 'We go take care of criminal?'

Nraglathoc says 'Me chased a criminal down'

Nraglathoc says 'Him ran in'

You say 'aye'

Nraglathoc says 'Him say kill Maran if you want me'

Nraglathoc says 'What me do just let him live?'

Nraglathoc says 'HIm invited me in'

Nraglathoc says 'Ulthur just looked fer reason ter strike'

You say 'no, but here is the position. I had extracted an assurance that if the Dark magistates did not strike at the Maran cabal, they would not hunt the magistrates in town'

You say 'Ulthur's attack was in reponse to your striking the Maran'

Nraglathoc says 'And servants no supposed ter attack anyways'

Nraglathoc says 'Tell them find a home seperate from servants and them have no problem like this'

Nraglathoc says 'Me was invited ter strike'

Nraglathoc says 'By one of the servants who live there'

You say 'Dawnites I had gotten no such assurance'

Nraglathoc says 'And who first struck me in town'

Nraglathoc shrugs indifferently.

Nraglathoc says 'They share a home'

Nraglathoc says 'That their same bed'

You say 'he has indeed played false'

You tell Ulthur 'there is mischief afoot'

Ulthur tells you 'How so?'

You tell Ulthur 'the criminal goaded the giantess, and the giantess unaware of the entente I had brokered with the Maran charged blindly in'

You tell Ulthur 'you responded in kind'

You tell Ulthur 'and now everything hangs in the balance'

Ulthur tells you 'I will bow to your wisdom in the matter, if you have an idea.'

Ulthur tells you 'I will not battle you.'

You tell Ulthur 'I do, I have no wish to be set at odds with you'

You say 'will you duel the Maran to settle this?'

Ulthur tells you 'What do you suggest?'

You tell Ulthur 'a duel of honor'

You tell Ulthur 'atween you and the Giantess'

Ulthur tells you 'I see. And the results being?'

You tell Ulthur 'if you slay her your issue is settled, you turn yourself in and your things are returned'

Ulthur tells you 'And if I fall?'

You tell Ulthur '*slighly smiles* I did not think that was possible'

Ulthur tells you 'It is not. But I dislike dueling without a purpose. So either way I am slain and my flag is gone, and my clothing is returned, but I get a chance at the giantess.'

You tell Ulthur 'aye'

Ulthur tells you 'Very well, if the giant will accept a duel to the death, I will turn myself in to you afterwords.'

You tell Ulthur 'indeed then'

You tell Nraglathoc 'I will call you to a suitable place where none will interfere'

Ulthur tells you 'Just tell me when and where.'

Ulthur tells you 'Will the giantess accept these terms?'

You tell Ulthur 'she will'

You tell Ulthur 'whe waits out a maladiction and then we shall meet at the old Maran fortress north of Tir talith'

Ulthur tells you 'The Knight's castle?'

You tell Ulthur 'aye'

Ulthur tells you 'Very well then.'

Ulthur tells you 'You will bring the giantess here, and mediate?'

You tell Ulthur 'I will'

Ulthur tells you 'I await then.'

The Outer Gatehouse

Nraglathoc has arrived.

Nraglathoc says 'fight begin when him show?'

Ulthur tells you 'Sir Zardik will stand for me, during the fight.'

Nraglathoc says 'or there a sign ter start?'

You tell Ulthur 'we are at the outer gatehouse'

Nraglathoc mutters something quietly to herself.

You say 'you wait till I say begin'

Ulthur tells you 'I come then.'

Nraglathoc says 'him almost here?'

You tell Ulthur 'I shall give the signal to begin'

You say 'hes almost here'

Ulthur says 'Are you ready?'

Nraglathoc says 'Never met yer'

Nraglathoc says 'Is ter death?'

You say 'let it be to the death'

Ulthur nods.

Nraglathoc nods.

Nraglathoc says 'Ifn yer die, me leave yer things'

Zardik says 'I been around mate....'is'll be the last time any'o you see me.'

Nraglathoc shrugs indifferently.

Nraglathoc nods.

Ulthur says 'Say begin, Justiciar.'

You say 'and should foul play happen Zardik and I shall slay the pepetrator'

Nraglathoc says 'Get a show first at least'

Ulthur grips his blade.

Nraglathoc says 'Let us'

Uelveyye drops a silken kerchief.

That was great, I have it logged from my side, but it's not much different. I hadn't talked with the Dawnie at all, so I didn't know anything else that was going on, cool to see the other side of it. That was right before Zardik's deletion too, so it worked out good having him stand for me.

Good stuff.

well, well, I started playing CF seriously again about a year ago...and you have been there almost the whole time. I don't know how many of my past chars where wanted by you. So I rolled Viramius....and then got inducted. I'm still a newbie in so many ways and you didn't get upset about it. Just told me the right way to do things. That is much appreciated. Well good luck on the next one....and I still remember how it really went when Dimion got himself Kilt

Well being new is never a bad thing, I really never minded new people in the Spire, Inept people or people there for personal gain IC Uel would not tolerate. I think you are doing well with Viramus believe me I don't care what anyone says, RPing tribunal well is hard.

Yes it is hard to roleplay a tribunal, especially as a paladin when you save a drow's neck by going after that maran who couldn't wait until he left town. Then you got them saying but how can you defend the evils...yadayada, but thanks Viramius has been a very fun char for me and I'm hoping he'll last quite awhile yet....

I really liked Uelveyye. A couple times you had me wondering if you had no ambition for Uelveyye, or were a newbie, or were baiting me to prod you on to "greater" things in the Spire.

Either way, very well played.

I'm glad you liked the char, I enjoyed interacting with Dugruain. Yes I was baiting you, if you read my role Uel was still growing up in the "big world" outside the palace. Dug was the first real dwarf she had ever met, and she was still searching out her potential. Anyone who had intereacted with the char over her lifespan would have seen the change from shy and unsure, to confident leader of the Spire and relentless Justiciar. That was also the reason I tried to encorporate Thror's religion although I wished now I had pursued it more.

Tommorow when I get onto my other machine I'll dig up some Dugruain interactions hear is nice one of Bria and I reminiscing about you.

Sweet music fills your ears and a wave of serenity washes over you as Bria enters.

Bria smiles happily.

Uelveyye smiles fondly.

You sink into a deep curtsey, rising again with grace and poise.

Uelveyye knits her brows in pensive thought.

Bria says 'So, what can I do for you?'

You say 'has my performance as your provincial been satisfactory m'lady?'

Bria says 'Yes, I have had no complaints.'

You nod.

You say 'I have tried to be here as many hours as my body can sustain me'

Bria nods.

You say 'and I have tried to lay the foundation of good solid magistrates'

You say 'but I have not seen the lord Dugruain for many moons..'

You say 'I miss his counsel'

Bria says 'I am sorry to say you will no longer be able to speak with him.'

Your jaw drops with displeasure.

Bria nods.

Bria looks out over the city with a touch of sadness to her eyes.

Bria says 'Some find there place else where.'

You say quietly 'he has left us ...for..forever?'

Uelveyye blinks back shimmering tears from her almond eyes.

Bria nods.

Bria says 'Yes.'

You say 'he will be missed'

Bria says 'Yes, he will be.'

You say 'the floors will never be so clean'

Uelveyye tries in vain to smile.

You say 'where do you think I can focus my efforts m'lady?'

Bria tries to laugh a little.

Bria turns her attention back to you.

You say 'I would like to groom some up and coming magistrates, I will not live forever'

Bria says 'Focus your attention? I am not sure what you mean, you have been doing very well, I supose it would depend on what you seek.'

Bria says 'I think that would be a very good idea.'

You say 'I seek to check the village, and their total disdain for the law'

You say 'I seek to curb the Sylvan who dart in and out of our cities wrecking havoc '

You say 'Have any magistrates petitioned to rise in status to Justiciar or Vindicator positions?'

Bria says 'I think the first goal is reachable, the other 2 are more then the work of many lifetimes, but something that always must be worked towards.'

Bria says 'a couple, though, I have not seen them of late.'

You say 'I do not expect to bring them completely into line, I have not the imagination to think of when that would happen'

You say 'but I would make them think seriously about their lawlessness before they act'

Bria nods.

You say 'the elder magistrate have been conspicuous in their absence'

<59 Elf CRE> Bria the Lady of Mercy
*51 Elf Tra* (PK) Uelveyye the High Sorceress of the Arcane, Provincial Magistrate

Players found: 2

Bria says 'Yes, they have, you of late have often been alone'

You say 'many the watch I have held alone'

You say 'tis frustrating to feel like the sole candle against the darkening tide of chaos that breaks'

Bria says 'You must not look at the tide for it will ebb and flow as it is meant too, you can only look to what light you and those you bring in to the Spire can bring.'

You nod.

You say 'the light of the Spire will not go out while I breath lifesbreath'

Bria smiles happily.

You say 'though at times it seems quite dim'

<630hp 1136m 778mv waxing civilized 9 AM>
Bria says 'I noticed many seek to join though.'

You sigh.

You say 'aye there is much chaff and few seeds '

Bria nods.

You say 'I am trying to raise the bar but it has been hard'

You say 'there are a few of promise'

You say 'the ranger for one'

You say 'he learns fast and listens well'

You say 'Epep is a twittering fool'

Bria nods.

You say 'what think you of Novien's application?'

Bria sighs.

Bria says 'I have, sadly, seen worse.'

You say 'I was quite suprised, a hero Shaman'

You say 'baffles me why now at this juncture in his life he seeks to serve'

Bria says 'He was removed from Scion'

Bria says 'And yes, I agree it seems odd'

You say 'that in itself may speak volumes to his trustworthiness'
Bria nods.

Bria says 'I would not like to see him join the spire with out alot of questions with good answers and perhaps a test or five.'

You nod.

You say 'I will set him whatever tasks you see fit, the fist would be a conspicuous presence in the realm'

You say 'first I meant to say'

Bria says 'I am sure you are fit to think up what is needed to prove his value and trust.'

You nod.

You say 'I will set my mind to something appropriate'

Bria says 'This is a case where I have no problem with us testing him and doing so with zeal.'

Bria smiles happily.

Bria says 'Was there more you wished to speak of?'

You say 'I have been patrolling the outlying cities myself when there are few on duty'

You say 'and sending others abroad when one city has a full compliment'

Bria says 'Good'

You say 'I had wondered, if perhaps we could allow some of the senior magistrates the ability to do the same?'

You say 'sort of the ability to reassign themselves only'

Bria says 'At this time no, each is to focus, but you have the ability to move them at will. '

You nod.

You say 'something for the future then perhaps'

Bria says 'I am looking in to the possiblity of a elder Magistrate with more then 1 city to watch.'

You chuckle politely.

You say 'your divine mind one step ahead of mine'

Bria smiles happily.

You say 'thank you for your time m'lady'

Bria says 'Yes, but then my time and yours are very different, I am sure you would like to see the changes soon, as would I but soon means different things.'

Bria says 'I am always here for you.'

Uelveyye takes your hand and touches it to her forehead in reverance.

Bria says 'And while the dwarf may not clean our floors, do not let that stop you from seeking me.'

You nod.

Bria says 'Good luck my child.'

You sink into a deep curtsey, rising again with grace and poise.

Bria wanders off looking for something more interesting.

We had some fun fights, elf vs elf. You weren't justiciar long when i was Simyar, but it was fun regardless. I just remember that time you held me in our guild, and I barely escaped. Those were fun times. Great work though

Yeah elf trannie vs elf trannie was always an interesting battle. I always had my alias ready when I knew you were around, and would release the guards just to see if you'd try!
That one time you and the Shaman dropped me, I had just seen the Shaman and the dust just wore off, I stood up and typed duo then whammo I got summoned. I was chuckling. I have been nailed by bad timing more than once, I supposed sometimes it was innatentiveness on my part. Again I will post the logs I have.

Yeah I always tried to make a point of trying to talk down lightwalker criminals. I though you balanced the lightwalker/Sylvan role well and was glad that there was another Sylvan who gave thought to his actions.

You did a wonderful job, perhaps when we both return to the fields we will have an even greater friendship and not even know it. You were dedicated and it shows. You took tribunal the extra step. I really liked how we all knew which airform struck, but you did take the time to make it a little investigation. Bravo. Maybe now you will hit the soccer fields once more with your martial arts ability . We all know them ninja, kung fu, people could hit the ball nicely.

Let's see, I realize my attention span for chars has been pretty low lately, but you ranked together with Zjemmur, interacted with Dalewiki, inducted Skrelia into tribunals, and intereacted with Arengakar. That's a lot of hours, over which I'd say you did an excellent job. Things came full circle it seems, as about the first thing I recall is you killing a young Harbik with Zjemmur in arial city as your first pk, and about the last thing we did together was go trash the orc village after orcs invaded the spire.

Hats off to an excellent all around character. Thera has been lessened by your passing.

The foyer takes up the entire first floor of the spire, with its three walls
made of a cold clean gray stone, the same as the outside. However unlike the
outside which was left rough, here is has been polished to a smooth surface.
The two massive wooden doors dominate the western wall of this room. They
stand wide open and carved in to them is a pair of scales. Thin arrow
slits provide a little of the view of the courtyard. Three wrought iron
candle stands provide the needed light. Inscribed in to the gray slate
floor are the laws of Thera a reminder to all who walk over them of their
duty. On the northern wall is a flight of stairs leading up to the second
floor, and a staircase going down.

A large triangular shaped room with a staircase running up and down on the
north wall to the other floors of the spire. The floor here is dark gray,
but by looking carefully, it is possible to make out ashes and small bits of
wood, metal and other rubble as well as some words carved in to it.
Dominating each of the walls are large stained glass windows. The western
window is surrounded with dented shields and weapons of leaders and
renowned Arbiters of the past. The southern windowpane serves as a
reminder to the fallen Justice members of long ago. The northern window
seems in part a work in progress, missing the completed feel of the other
windows. The shapes emerging mystically from the glass appear to be those
of the Tribunal. This room lies empty and barren except for these mementos
of what once was.

In Hamsah Mu'tazz, the Sultan declares a day of rest in honor of the fallen Justiciar.

In Seantryn Moden, the guards raise their weapons in a unified salute to the fallen Justiciar.

In the city of Tar Valon, the Commander of the Guards rededicates his forces to the preservation of law in memory of the fallen Justiciar.
