Chapter 3

A few days later, i pledged my loyalty before the captain of the bloody
Tribunal. Not much later, a provincial Magistrate named Sylvus, called
me to the Spire. When i arrived, the old and gaunt felar just said "I
am going to die very soon. So congratulations, you are my beneficiary."
And gave a Galadon's badge.

Soon later he also said something, that i did not pass his scrutiny, and
it was not really his problem anymore. He did die at that day, and i was
near and preserved and took care of his corpse with all the formality a
experienced and tribunal leader should have.

But that does not changed the fact, i entered the Spire without any kind
of exam or training. I would say, this time the Magistrates had luck,
because i am not an infiltrated or ill intended to corrupt the laws. And
besides that, i can learn alone. The library at the Spire is an amazing
guideline for every new member, and should be the first stop for any who
earns a new badge.

But remembering what happened to me, makes me think that this probably
had happened a lot before. I say this, because i can guarantee more than
twenty five per cent of the Spire's troop, have fallen and burried by
my own hands. Many, younger than they should, showing the total lack of
training to be thrown into the streets to do their jobs.

Much work to do ahead. Both in resting the dead and training the living.

Chapter 2

The Galadon Cemetery has been very busy lately. An abnormal flow of
bodies has arrived, but not old or sick people. Instead of that,
young people suffering brutal deaths, fire...

Many arrive still in their uniform, with the famous blue circle of
the Galadon Guard. Buried practically as indigents. The Spire in the
past, was more careful with its members, but these days, it seems to
forget too quickly about those who gave their lives for the law.

In the mean time, I have watched from afar. Smoke crossing the air
and the soot falling slowly over the old tombstones in the cemetery.
Distant screams, suddenly silenced. Fire and chaos daily erode and
destroy Galadon. The Spire's Magistrates have difficulty maintaining
order and law within the walls of the city.

With my foot resting on a shovel, I look at the freshly dug grave and
think. Could I do anything about it? Galadon is my hometown, and it
has always been my home. Would a gravedigger be of use to the Spire?

Gently settling the body of a still very young guard in the pit, I'm
sure that's not right. My doubts will dissipate for the foreseeable
future, as my wish at this point is to become a Tribunal and start
treating it's, no, our dead with more respect.

Chapter 1

Druzar was born in Galadon, and his father worked at the Galadon's
graveyard as a gravedigger. They young boy, soon followed the steps
of his father. But there was something different with Druzar. He did
not take joy on the work itself, but from what he felt doing while
doing the job.

Working with graveyard soil, seemed to revigorate him, and while
doing it, he was never seen bored or tired. His father tought the
boy had an amazying energy, but the truth, is that Druzar was some
kind of receptacle for this kind of energy. As he advanced into the
teens age, he started to understand things a little better.

Coming from such a humble background, he wasn't proud to "remove"
some of the jewelry and utensils buried along with some bodies, but
these were of extreme importance in the beginning of his studies.

He used this objects of value, to gain entrance at the necromancers
guild, and finance his erly years at the guild. Working at the city
graveyard by daytime, and studing at the guild under moonlight. A
young person would become quicky very tired of it, but Druzar, as he
touched the Graveyard soil, he was always invigorated.

Druzar now fully understand what is this energy he feels since he
was a child, but the role it will have in his life remains a mistery.
