I don't think the current change really has much impact (about downing the item). Why not one or some of the following -

- put a timer on chameleon of 2 ticks before it can be called again?
- can't call chameleon when bloody, or at least add a failure rate?
- make it wear off after a three to 5 ticks (cabal edge to increase the duration)?
