Potions aren't applied by contact here, however. ('quaff') I can't picture them throwing a potion into anyone's mouth or anything, either.

More importantly, there's a large number of readily-accessible potions with stiff drawbacks. That's one of the perks of dedicated poisoners right now, but they aren't necessarily balanced for nearly everyone having them. (Why would this be a mage skill, btw?)
