I did as well before joining the staff and talking with people who worked with him. Having never overlapped with Cador, I can't speak with any authority on the matter, but every person I spoke with made it a point to mention that his reputation had only a passing resemblance to the man himself. Sometimes, stories change in the retelling, especially if the storyteller has a point to make.

Probably something to that.
