What hooked me on this MUD more than others really was, as was said, the depth. Not only are we talking extensive classes - as mechanics are cool and all - but general player and Rp depth.
Amazingly written areas that have massive descriptions, multiple religions with interactive gods, cabals with awesome and conflicting philosophies, etc.
It totally grabbed me and I haven't found another MUD even HALF as fun.
Oh, and the cruel nature of CF. That too.
