Mak (Guest) (Guest)Wed 28-Nov-01 11:08 AM

#3703, "My belated Farewells!!!"

I played Mak like an artist. His medium was carnage, but he still
had the artists' eye for beauty. In you he saw exactly that, both
when he caught you undressing and in speaking with you. Besides,
you were one of the few people to show interest in the character.

I had lots of plans for this guy, but having almost no cabal ties
other than BATTLE (who didn't help me with anything except for
ranking) can be a bit rough. This was my first assassin in quite
a few years and I think I did pretty good. I would have kept him,
but I have had some cool character concepts recently and really
wanted to dive into one with everything I've got and see what
happens with it, so I deleted. I don't want to be one of those
characters that shows up every now and then and everyone from
newbie to Hero thinks "I know that guy..."

Grumorum: Did I have any chance of getting into Entropy with
this character? I've had several Barons, and I see a difference
in inductions...a good difference. Seems to be meant to weed out
the jackasses.

Pico: You were cool. I don't know what I must have said to get
your attention, but once I did it worked nicely. Thanks.

Jazur: I had spoken with you once or twice and I was hoping to
gain a tattoo out of being your follower. Afterall, Mak was the
embodiment of passion. I had to stop playing him for a while and
when I came back and prayed I never heard from you. Not sure if
it was because I gained 20 levels before trying to contact you
or simply conflicting times. Anyway, I think you play your role
very 'godly'. Good job.

Yelsar: You were coo', though (correct me if I'm wrong, and no
offense here) you seemed newbie'ish. Sorry for killing you those
few times. =p

Ragers: You guys must have REALLY suspected me of being a magic
user. Heh, I remember one time I had Grozbem chasing me up and
down Thera trying to look at me. I ran like a mofo cause I had
a bracelet of bifrost and I was really attached to it. I had it
for about a month and every time a rager would come around I
would stash it somewhere remote and hope no one snagged it. Heh,
I wasn't willing to give up my rager buddies or my magic...made
things fun.

Scions: Damn you A-P's, Mace, and Axe specs! I had tons of well-
practiced skills and you fuckers tooled me everytime. I just
didn't want to give into the cleche of being an axe-fearing
assassin...unfortunately the truth hurts.

Sorry if I'm forgetting anyone else.

Here is my role and description.

desc + Your eyes wander from wherever they were to this short, dark man.
desc + Dark is an understatement, as he is darker than any tribesman of
desc + the southlands. Yet, his features are neither rough or robust, but
desc + slender and defined like an ebony figurine. His clothes look a bit
desc + out of place, possibly Seantryn in style, and are of various shades
desc + of bronze and rustic brown. A broad black sash is wrapped around his
desc + waist with a curious symbol at the end of either tail. His only
desc + possessions must be in the medium-sized black pack which is slung
desc + over his shoulder, though it can't be much. Your eyes eventually
desc + wander away from the dark little man of seemingly little repute,
desc + and soon your thoughts seem to wash away the memory of his presence
desc + as if he had never been there.

Role

role + "I don't like rambling about events that you and your people could
role + care less about, Rembran, so I'll be brief."
role +
role + 'Uhhh, yes, right then. Well, I guess I should start at the beginning,
role + considering yours must be unusu--'
role +
role + "My father was a Drow,..."
role +
role + A barely stifled gasp is heard from the bustling crowd. Several of
role + them are heard saying "I knew it." and "Filthy Drow hell-spawn!"
role +
role + "...and my mother was the unfortunate woman that he raped. Those are
role + my 'beginnings', Rembran. Satisfied?"
role +
role + The wry little gnome pushes back his spectacles as he replies, 'Uhhh,
role + yes, I suppose that will do. So what can you tell us about yourself?"
role +
role + A cold, emotionless stare is his only answer from the half-breed.
role +
role + 'Right, well...maybe I should point the question a little better. Why
role + do you...ummm...kill?'
role +
role + As per usual the half-breeds' eyes seem to come alive at the prospect
role + of murder.
role +
role + "Because I am an artist, Rembran, and like so many artists, my talent
role + lies in one particular field. Would Amberlea be any good at carving
role + granite? Likely not. In contrast, would Minalcar the Savage be any
role + good at painting? Again, likely not."
role +
role + The crowd seems to grow uneasy at the mention of Minalcar, as many
role + of their elders were alive in the days of his reign.
role +
role + 'So, let me see if I understand this. You think of death as an art?'
role +
role + "Of course death is an art. I am not the first, nor will I be the
role + last to believe so. Some worship those who have already died. I,
role + however, try to capture the last seconds of a life. We mortals wait
role + our entire lives only to die, Rembran, why then should death not
role + be something spectacular? Something to remember? Would you rather
role + pass away on a sickly deathbed, or be immortalized forever as a
role + masterpiece?"
role +
role + 'Well, ummm, if the only way to be a masterpiece is to be butchered
role + by you, then the deathbed I'll take.'
role +
role + Just as swiftly as Makish's grin came, it disappears at the gnomes'
role + words. A chilling calm comes over him as he says, "For you I would
role + do my absolute best, Rembran. Surely explosives would be in ord--"
role +
role + 'Ahhh, ummm, yes, well thank you for the gesture."
role +
role + Makish nods in consent, saying, "Anytime."
role +
role + 'So, how did this passion for murder first manifest itself?'
role +
role + "I think I've always been a bit more inclined to killing than
role + most. Perhaps it's my blood, or perhaps it came on in my
role + younger days. Ahhhh, now those were the days, though my craft
role + was not yet perfected, everything was new. Every work of art
role + was never before seen and thus, shocking and bold. Now I must
role + strive more than ever to create new mediums for my works.
role + A challenging task, I assure you. But I am getting ahead of
role + myself. Ahhhh yes, my younger days....
role added

role +
role + ==================================================================
role +
role + "For a long time I was on the cusp of morality as I like to call it.
role + I trained hard, I taught myself how to kill. But it was simply a
role + morbid interest at the time, not a realized passion. Then, one day,
role + I saw a crime in progress. A thug...I believe he was a giant of some
role + sort, perhaps a half-giant...regardless, he was quickly ditching his
role + pursuers in the market of Hamsaah. I decided to chase him down myself.
role + It would be a good opportunity to test myself and not risk death in
role + the process. At least not by the local law..."
role +
role + "Hmmm, that's not in the documents...", says the wizened old gnome as
role + he flips through a few scrolls.
role +
role + Laughing, Makish says, "So few of them actually made it to those pages."
role +
role + "Anyhow, Rembran, as I was saying...I caught him a block before his
role + hideout. He died without making so much as noise as I snapped his neck
role + with my hands. Rather unimpressive, but you must remember, it was my
role + first. As far as assassinations go, it was flawless and quiet. But I
role + am more than a mere assassin. It is said that the cowled brothers are
role + Wolves among Lambs. I tend to think of myself as a Tiger among the
role + Wolves. But again I stray form the subject. Killing this thug fueled
role + the fire that I had always known was there and my lust for perfection
role + grew as well as my self-scrutinization. It's certainly easier after
role + the first time, and my ability to keep calm in a mortal conflict has
role + allowed me to create the most elaborate deaths ever seen."
role +
role + "More than other men, I have the ability to carry out my passions and
role + ambitions in this world, as I have worked harder to do so than any other.
role + When I realized that my life was a like driven by the heat of my desire,
role + a name came to me as if whispered upon the wind. 'Jazur' was the one word
role + spoken to me upon that hot breeze. Soon I found myself learning every
role + scrap I could about the One Desire. As I learned more about the religion,
role + or rather, the philosophies of the One Desire, I found that my own sense
role + of reason and drive was reflected therein. I set out to discover the Threshold.

I'll post my fights on Dio's, well the one's I logged.
