You were in charge of getting something done that Brotmin wanted done, so you were important, more so than most Scion mages (who were all important to him to some degree). I think I filled you in plenty before you became Chancellor, too. You were around tons, which also made Brotmin happy. When you die, you'll die... until then, be around.
