I'll sort of try and address this here rather than bringing my thread back up, since it covers both of us.
>My reason for leaving wasn't really that one incident, it was >the fact that you were ALWAYS IN SILENT. And could not defend. >When you tried to explain to me IC that you couldn't hear in >there, I felt that you just didn't get my point of view, which >was of course that I knew you couldn't hear in the tower and >therefore should have stayed the hell out .
While I sympathize with you being stuck defending alone when one (or both) of us was in the Silent Tower, staying out of the Tower was not an alternative, or even an option. I for one think it's ludicrous to even try to ask that of someone in a cabal, particularly in a cabal that values magical knowledge and power to the extent that Scion does. I don't think it would be revealing too much for me to state that one of the Scion quests I was involved in _Required_ me to go into the Silent Tower.
Furthermore, having been through the purge of the old scions, and talking to Valguarnera when trying to get reinducted afterwards, I was strongly impressed with a feeling that the primary purpose of Scion has absolutely nothing to do with killing lots of Maran/Battle/etc or downing their items, but that it instead lies in deeper more mysterious things (which I took/take to mean the Scion quests, as well as the search for mystical secrets and such from places like the Silent Tower). What had doomed the 'old' Scion is that they got so caught up in the raiding and killing that they lost all sense of the more important stuff. That's just how I understood it though, and I'm sure Valguarnera or others more knowledgeable than I can correct me if I'm way off the mark.
In all honesty, if I had waited until only times when Scion was strong and in power, and all our enemies were dealt with, I would *never* have been able to go take care of those quests, let alone do a number of other things that I felt had equal or greater importance to the cabal wars. This isn't to say I avoided raids, or recovering, or any of that, I just felt it was important to put them in perspective of other priorities as well.
