Chapter 1

Being born into Thera, ravaged by war and death, is something that
brings despair to us all. I myself perhaps had a more
difficult childhood than most, but perhaps not the worst.
Enough to bring trauma, despair, loneliness, anger and a way to live with
sense of darkened morality. This is the way Jezzrima survived, losing her
parents. She was orphaned at the age of 13 by losing her parents to what
she considered as bloodthirsty marans. All they saw was a dark-elf
with a human, and that they were wicked, even though they were just
two people trying to live a simple life for themselves.
This is the despair of life and war, the tragedy that wreaks
havoc upon the lands.

Being a teenager, she was too old to be sent to Balator orphanage.
She had to live her life on her own, making decisions to survive.
In a world that shunned her for her birth, she did what could to
make it through each day. Scrounging for scraps
working odd jobs for only a few measly copper, she scraped by as
as scum in Hamsah, but she made it through. As she matured, her body
became a service as well, it was more coin, but it was degrading.
We must do what we can to survive and eventually thrive, it was
what she thought at least, it was all she knew. What was simple whoring
to her, was just another way to make it through the next day.

Even those this tragic story grew worse, it eventually
became a glimmer to a future for Jezzrima. She, in her times
of deepest despair, would spend time singing under the docks on the beach.
The waves crashed loudly obscuring her voice, though this is also where
she lived. There were stories that began to spread though, about a
siren singing close to the waves, luring in sailors and more to
their doom, until someone actually did venture to find the alluring voice
filled with despair and torment, though beautiful and entrancing.
