Chapter 3

Hylaphiinae mulled over her convictions after a recent incident that left
the blood of the innocent on her talons. She was inconsolable after following
Ios into the city which brought about the alarm of the guards. Her recurring
theme and vision throughout life was that her presence was meant to be a gift
to others. And that with her gifts she could also help others find theres.

But there was more.

Something righteous that scratched at her scales and asked her to do and BE
more.

She mulled over it in conversation with her dear friends of the fortress until
it finally clicked. Justice.
She was to be a vessel for justice- a clear penance for her wrongful doings.
To use her gifts in the pursuit of aiding others. Bringing justice on behalf
of those who cannot do so themselves. Being the avenger of S'ra. Not everyone
has the gift of escaping or overcoming a situation they find themselves in.
But my gift of shapeshifting. I can change my shape and become more
or less. Plant my roots and anchor myself to the lands or fly above them.
These are blessings bigger than myself.
A gift that will be used to bring about the gifts of others.
Such is my vow.
To be the gift of whatever an individual of light needs from me at the time.
Be it protection, guidance, or nurturing.

How interesting it was that the Conifer tree I now looked up to with wonder.
Was now the tree I represented. Granting hope, justice, and protection to
others who find themselves under my branches.
