Chapter 1

Your eyes come upon a short stubby thickly-bearded man in armor barking
orders to some other men combating a group of powerful mages slaying the
people of this town. "Come on ya whimps! We gotta stop those bastards!"
"Wha are ya doing fools? You need to figh-" His sentence was cut short
as his jaw dropped in astonishment. Weapons held tightly in hand a group
of four men led by a man in nothing but his underwear and a helmet arrived.
"W-w-Wunger, you fool what the hell are you doing! Where is your armor man!?
The armor-less man paused briefly, "Uhh, I'm sory sir, Honestly! But you see
there was this, uh, filthy little pickpocket who took m-" "Oh save it you
worthless bastard. Just get to the castle and guard those gates with yer
life!"
the men nodded and began to head to the gates. Just before they
arrived they saw a man in robes chanting some arcane words as a soldier with
a lance charged at him, and in the blink of an eye he was engulfed in flames
thrashing around desperately before falling to the ground dead. The
harmonious
sound and rancid smell of the four men simultaneously soiling themselves
filled
the air causing the robed man to gag and fall to the ground, "Dar ain't no
hope
for us if we try ta fight 'em! we gots to get outta here!" Wunger shouted at
his
men. "But Wunger, Da captain said!" "Forget wha the captain said if we don't
leave
will end up like that poor bastard!" The men quickly agreed and took
themselves
and their families down to the basement of Wunger's home hoping the mages
wouldn't
find them. Hours passed and eventually the sounds of battle subsided. Calls
from the
captain looking for more survivors rung out through the town and the men
left their
basement to report to the captain. "Sir!" called out Wunger, the captains'
face began
to turn red with anger "WUNGER you damned coward!" "How could ya abandon us?
When
your people were being slaughtered before yer eyes!?" Wunger stopped in his
tracks.
"Sir, I'm sory, b-b-but My family... I had to go protect dem sir!" Wunger
replied
"Oh? What about your people? Many good men an' women died ya bastard! What
about dem!?"
"Si-" "I'll see ya burn for this ya pathetic cowards! BURN!".
