Chapter 1

What can I do, will I be consumed by nihilism. Will the despair of the world
wear me down. The world is awful, truly awful and where is my father? This
is how I used to think and to be fair, consider what I saw. A dark-elf
magistrate enforcing the law in town, when an innocent walked past the gates,
the dark-elf followed and magically put the innocent to sleep, then diseased,
poisoned and blinded her. A necromancer with a zombies of dwarves dragging
along behind, their groans made my stomach turn. My own fate of exploring
and then cut down and murdered by an Udgaardian patroller. But that was not
the end of my story, I thought I would be in the afterlife and see my father
and find out what happened to him. Instead, I found myself at the Vorolian
pit with consciousness intact, a ghost and after time, I reformed. This
experienced changed my life forever, I once thought death would be the end
and I am not surprised how quick it came given the evil I have witnessed.
While death took its burden, the experience gave me something very special.
It gave me hope. No matter, how evil the evil are, there is always another
chance, the hope was not just inspiration but a vaccine for despair.

There was nothing natural about becoming a ghost and slowly reforming back
with all my elvish charm. A higher power is at work. It should really not
have come as surprise, the guildmaster taught me how to mend wounds and
detect invisible, even to call a flamestrike. Where did I think this came
from. I am not sure what I thought, but it's clear now they come from a
higher power. But what higher power? During my training it was made clear
to me by the guildmaster that I was an elf of dedication. I don't know why
or how this came to be, but I feel in my core that it is somehow an accurate
description, so I accepted it. I since learnt this identity means my
supplications are gift from the great Baerinika the Pure. What kindness to
grant me these powers and I have not given her anything in return. Now with
focus for my gratitude, my faith has blossomed.My hope has rewarded me with
faith, faith that Baerinika the Pure can help me make this a better world and
that it is the right thing to do.

I've started to express my faith, to disrupt the harm of evil where I see
it. The world has no shortage of innocents that have run out of food due to
the greed of others, such as farmers unable to deliver their routes because
of centurions. I have learnt to create bread without cooking wheat. The
bread comes from Baerinika herself and I like to think when I give that
starving child some of that bread, they get a blessing as well.There is
much to do, so many to help and each time I do so, they receive hope and it
bolsters my hope a little as well.
