Chapter 11

The gnome gulps a bit and taps his handkerchief on his sweaty forehead.
He continues to feed his curiosity and flips the page. The next few pages only
present to him etchings, drawings and symbols.. the only one recognizable to
him is that of a sword cross with a flute hovering over a hut. A few blank
pages later another passges catches his attention..

Day of the Bull, Month of Spring.

The sleep beckons to me at the strangest of hours and I find myself to be
weaken than what I used to be. I am offered sympathy and help at each town
that I visit, and it angers me beyond the expression of words. I lunged at
the last one and drilled a hole with my bare fingernails in his disrespeting
throat. My travels continue to search the blessed abode of Lady Yean, I have
heard her of her ways of strength and knowledge and they suit me well. I
found the village where I shall seek home, for they dwell their spirit where
my soul seeks to perch. The difficult path seems to fail it's match to the
grit of my will and strength of my soul. Concussions and narcolepsy do not
seem to do anything more than slow down my march to my goal.

I have created a harp from my own flesh and bone and my wounds heals well.
I have stood in the lonely grove and oathed my flesh and blood to avenge
the blight of my past. This harp shall serve me as a reminder and this pain
shall keep my anger young. I shun all revelry and have forsaken all things that
are charitable or undeserved. They only blemish the soul with weakness and
want. I wander the land in search of errands to run and aid others, much do
learn from aiding them and it garners my inner strengths and gives me reason
to trudge further down the path towards my goal. Time alone will bear
testimony to my fate, but with my harp and my faith I have none and nothing
to fear. Many on my path have come to call me 'Il'Cha'Ashama'Ghara' or the
nightmare lady in local common-speak: perhaps addressing the life I lead or
perhaps the visual ugliness of my physical self, but it time I shall be a
crimson nightmare to those who gifted me the unnatural sleep.
