Chapter 12

It had been some time since Lanathalis turned his back upon those who would
wish to call him family. Thinking of how the ignorance had corrupted them
still did not set well with him. It hit too close to home showing how the
blight of the soul had spread so far and wide. That it was not just a small
isolated incident which had occurred to him and his family, and once again
the nightmares of his past found their way to his thoughts.

Yet..there was perhaps a chance he could save these souls unlike his family.
The seed of corruption had found its way into the heart of the refuge this is
true, though it had not full set in. It would be possible to cut out that of
magic and there would be a chance nature would find its path back to the
purity of which it was. But this would not be accomplished by mere wishes or
intent, Lanathalis had to find a way. And such a way would not be done
without blood upon his hands, for it was only by purging the soul of its
corruption could it find a chance to be pure and remade.

Lanathalis waged battles all across Thera, ever pursuing those who renounced
nature in favor of raw magic and corrupted power. Into the earth he placed
his blood and sweat, anointed in this holy crusade to preserve nature. Always
pushing harder and harder to purge the flaws and weakness of his own body so
that he may be a better weapon in this war. He did not relish death and
destruction, but knew that it was merely the proper cycle of nature.
