Chapter 7

She will speak with some travellers to see what they liked and what they were willing
to work for. She will also speak with some of her trusted brethren in the Brigade and
perhaps they can come up with an ingenious payment system.

The terms for the spies' work, she reckons, would mainly comprise of these information :

For enemy warriors : Their weapons of choice and their specialisations.

For enemy mages : What spells, and how well, they knew their chants. What spells they
favoured in the heat of battle.

For enemy priests : Whom their lord or lady is, if unknown. And perhaps an Acolyte could
be sent to speak and understand them better, for Acolytes were better versed in religions,
and perhaps bring these fallen to the Light.

For every single enemy :
1.The way they preferred to fight in warfare, be it brazen attacks, or a fluid shadow.
2.The strength of their current status, how many hits it would take to bring them down,
how well they fought.
3.Their strengths in every area of warfare.
4.Their weaknesses and vulnerabilities in every area of warfare.
5.Their knowledge of terrain.
6.If they were more of a leader, or a follower, if there wasn't a choice.
7.Their habits, favourite places to visit, quirks, speech, and they way they thought and
behaved.
8.Their tricks and secrets.
9.Their battle plan at current if any.

This was tricky business she knew. Yet, it was an important aspect in warfare and
to her, should not be left out. Some may question her on it, some may call it
deception and using others for her own gain. Yet, she knows that if one holds honour in
too high a regard, one will be easily taunted and broken by the enemy. She does not
regard her network as a deception, but another fraction of the army. She will not compel
or force any single being to work for her, but will be a partner with them all on an
individual basis to ensure strength in mind and heart, and to work together for the victory
of the Light. If any wished to leave the network, they will have to swear secrecy, but are
allowed to go. For none should be forced to work, even for the Light. All must do so
out of their own wills.

To know self, was to win half the battle already, as many knew. To know the enemy and
terrain, the other half. To improve the chances against the enemy, it was necessary to
know them well, yet conceal the status of self from them. And thus, it is absolutely
vital, for the victory of the Light and protection of the peoples, to employ the aid of
worthy spies.
