Chapter 5

Erenthell, the guildmaster of Voralian City, smiled encouragingly at the
big nervous looking storm giant who made his way into the guild.

"New to the guild?" he asked Jremulek politely.

Jremulek nodded his massive head in the affirmative.

"Well you'll just have to sign up here," Erenthell said as he pulled out
an old tattered book. "Just sign your name on the line," Erenthell
pointed to an empty space with a delicate finger.

Jremulek grasped the pen like a dagger and hunkered over the logbook.
Jremulek stabbed at the page forcefully, and just as it was about to
tear, Erenthell politley intervened, "Ahh you better let me do that,
lad," and snatched the pen from Jremulek's large hands.

Jremulek breathed a huge sigh of relief.

"Your name?" Erenthell asked, and looked up towards the giant.

"Jremulek," he replied in his deep bass voice.

"And your last name?"

Jremulek looked puzzled before stating that he did not have one.

"Ahh, but everyone has a surname, perhaps your's has just been lost. No
matter, many a time adventurer's without a last name make one up for
themselves. Usually it's something that they hold dear to their heart.
But you better think of one for yourself, it's always better to pick your
own than have it given to you!" Erenthell pointed to the drunken warrior
in the corner with vomit all over the front of his tunic. "How do you
think that guy go the name Markoko Spewtunic?"

Jremulek shivered at the thought, and then tilted his massive head and a
thoughtful expression came over his face, "You be sayin' sometimes it be
somethin' people hold close to their heart, eh?"

Erenthell nodded.

"Well be namin' me after me human father. Be namin' me Tangis'son."
