Chapter 4

Tangis sighed sadly, he had grown very fond of Jremulek and had come to
think of him as a son, but the day had come as he had always known it
would, "You've not dishonored me, lad. Quite the opposite!"
"Then why do you leave me?" Jremulek questioned with dark and sad eyes.

"I've nothing left to teach you. It would be a disservice to those who
are in great need to keep you from them for much longer. When we get to
Galadon, I want you to seek out the Maran, they will teach you things
that I do not know and can never teach you."
"But I like being with you, Tangis. You're the best teacher I've ever
had," Jremulek argued.

"The Darkness grows strong, Jremulek, it grows stronger everyday. There
is a light in you, Jremulek, a light that burns hotter than a thousand
torches. You've been put her for a reason, and I shall not hold you back
any longer. I've never had a better student, Jremulek, be certain of
that. Let us enjoy these last few days together as we travel this road."

Jremulek nodded solemnly and the two men continued west down the road
with the rising sun shining warmly on their backs.
